NAIL ART: Vampy Valentine's Day Heart Nails
I have to admit that pink and red are not generally my jam when it comes to my nails. I mean... it's pretty obvious with a scroll through my Instagram that those are just not colors that I'm big into personally. Speaking of which, please do go over to @pblnails and drop a follow to keep up with all of my nail art designs as well as video tutorials for all of my manis! Anyway, because the whole pink and red thing isn't entirely my thing, I decided that for this Valentine's Day I was going to include a mani that's a little bit more vampy - with a polish that was straight up inspired by vampires, which I sort of love.

I'm a little bit in love with Painted Polish these days and definitely dying to get my hands on more of their polishes, but so far I only have shades that I've grabbed from Polish Pickup, which includes this shade that was featured in October 2021's PPU. Dead But Delicious was inspired by Vladislav The Poker from What We Do In The Shadows - amazing source of inspiration, am I right? - and is described as a vampy blood red jelly base with red to magenta to violet iridescent flakes and metallic flakes. And it is STUNNING. I'm obsessed. And I mean... when looking for a sexy, vampy shade for Valentine's Day, I really don't think I could have picked anything more perfect from my collection. If you can find this in a destash - GET IT.
For this mani, I applied two coats of Dead But Delicious to all of my nails as my base and let it dry down before I moved on to the design.
For the stamping, I decided that I wanted to still lean into hearts and love and all of that, but I wanted to keep it mostly a little bit darker. Ultimately I decided to use a full coverage image on all of my nails and then layer a couple of smaller images in a brighter color on my middle nails for some more interest. I started with this sort of layered bubbly heart image on all of my nails and I went with a sort of ashy mauve stamping polish that I think walks that line where it definitely shows up but still feels sort of desaturated and low contrast. Next, I grabbed a white stamping polish and chose a couple of smaller heart images from the same plate to apply to the my middle and ring fingers.
Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a glossy top coat for shine and volume - and voila!

I mean... not gonna lie, my favorite part of this mani is that base polish, but I do also really love how the vampier sort of vibe worked with these really, really cutesy, on the nose heart images. Anyway... have I sung enough of the song of how much I love Painted Polish yet? No?
