HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Lacy Nude & Black Chevron Bat Tips Mani

by - October 23, 2022

There are definitely some stamping designs that I just... I just can't only do them once and today's mani is definitely one of those. Last year, I picked up this plate from KADS that has all of these gorgeous Halloween French Tip images on it and I just completely fell in love with this lacy chevron bat image. Of course, I knew I couldn't just straight up recreate the version of it that I did last time, so instead I decided to go with this nude color story that I think is just so crisp and gorgeous.

When it came to the color story for this one, what I had in mind going in was that I wanted nude and rose gold to be paired with really crisp black stamping. I just felt like it would be the perfect version of this for this year. I decided that I was going to grab for Girly Bits Budget Schmudget, which I actually had a friend of mine grab for me from Polish & Beauty Expo in Chicago this year. I just... had to have it and I knew it would make a stunning nail art base, though I have no idea how I've managed to not use it at all up until now! To go with that sheer nude base, I grabbed for my favorite black stamping polish, of course, along with a peachy beige and a metallic rose gold.

I started this mani by applying one coat of Budget Schmudget to all of my nails. This definitely left behind a sheer base and almost just a wash of color, but that's exactly what I was looking for with this one.

Now I will admit, placing the stamping and getting it just right for this design is not my favorite thing in the world because I'm an insane perfectionist when it comes to that kind of thing, but I think it turned out pretty well. I started by applying the solid chevron image in rose gold with placement to sort of split the nail in half. Next, I went in with the beige shade and applied that directly below the rose gold. And finally, I went in with the black. First I applied the larger lacy bat image directly over the rose gold and then I decided it was a little bit sparse so I added this little small spiderweb image that fit sort of perfectly in that little triangle at the tip of the nail.

Once I was happy with the design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

Honestly, even though the placement can feel a little bit fussy, this mani comes together so incredibly quickly and you get so much bang for your buck when it comes to impact. Even in this fairly soft and subtle color palette, this is a really impactful Halloween design. I do think, though, that if you want to do a sort of sophisticated Halloween nail design, this could actually be a good option!
