Prairie Beauty

I did a lot of planning for this year's Christmas nails, but today's mani wasn't at all planned. I actually saw an absolutely adorable mani from @lindseysbeautylounge1 on Instagram and immediately wanted to put together my own version of it. There was just something about those tiny images right at the tip that just completely pulled me in and I knew that with the help of a couple of Clear Jelly Stamper plates, I could definitely put together a version that referenced the inspiration mani but felt like me. And I literally had this on my nails within hours of seeing it in my Reels feed.

When I set out to do today's mani, it wasn't really with the explicit intention to recreate art projects from elementary school on my nails... but it's definitely what ended up happening. I'm sure that using leaves to stamp and create fun designs was a pretty common project that most of us did at some point and it gives such a specific look that as soon as I looked down at this finished mani that's exactly what it reminded me of. Well, either the specific use of leaves or carving potatoes to look like leaves and then stamping those, it also very much gives that appearance.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling about childhood art projects and get to the... adult art project? Ahem...

There are definitely some stamping designs that I just... I just can't only do them once and today's mani is definitely one of those. Last year, I picked up this plate from KADS that has all of these gorgeous Halloween French Tip images on it and I just completely fell in love with this lacy chevron bat image. Of course, I knew I couldn't just straight up recreate the version of it that I did last time, so instead I decided to go with this nude color story that I think is just so crisp and gorgeous.

Today's Halloween nail design is one that I conjured in my mind weeks before I was actually able to do it, because I was waiting for the stamping plate to arrive, but I literally knew exactly what it was going to look like and what I was going to use to get the look for ages. Sometimes, I will admit, that situation doesn't work out the way that I might have hoped, but in the case I'm really happy with the end result and it really is exactly what I had in mind when I conceived it. It also walks a really interesting line between being both super simple and also really intricate.
