I am entirely unashamed to admit that the color story for today's mani came from what was in my coffee mug when I sat down to do it. I quit drinking coffee about 4 months ago and I've been alternating between being a London Fog girlie and a Matcha Latte girlie and I just happened to be drinking the latter during this mani and something about the color just inspired me so I went for it. This mani is a bit of a recreation of one I did some time ago, but I changed up the color story and some of the details and I love the way it turned out.

So when it came to the base polish for this mani, I was inspired by the color of the wet matcha in the bottom of the clear Starbucks cup. KADS' Loden Frost* is a sort of muted green shade with an ashy, neutral undertone. It's actually an entirely unique shade in my collection and I really think it evokes that vibe of the matcha. 

I started by applying two fairly generous coats of Loden Frost to all of my nails and then added a fiery flaky topper to just add a little bit of texture in the base.

For the stamping, I used two different images from the KADS Fashion 094 stamping plate. The full cover image really evokes, to me, an art deco sort of vibe. I applied that full image to my pinkie, middle finger, and thumb using a really light sort of acid green. For my ring and pointer fingers, I started by applying this sort of swoopy banner image towards one end of the nail and then I applied one section of the sort of arrows image from the full cover image to each of those nails as well, to bring everything together.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

Honestly, I don't know if anyone else is going to get the matcha latte inspiration with this one - especially since the design really doesn't reference that inspiration at all - but I think the color story really ended up doing what I wanted it to do. Also, I just really love this design overall.
