HALLOWEEN NAIL ART | Warm Pink Skull Flower Nails
Did I buy the Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H-100 Mystic Hallows stamping plate because I wanted to do some version of this mani? I did. I mean, at least in part. I've actually wanted to do a fun, girly skull flowers for the past couple of years but I only got my hands on this plate recently - so it was time! I think there's something to be said for going for girly, fun Halloween nails over the sort of classic spooky designs that might feel a bit more on the nose. For me, this is definitely the vibe I'm into at the moment.

The base polish I used for this mani really drove a lot of the design decisions. I knew I wanted a pink base, so I dug around in my polish drawers and eventually pulled out Spice Spice Baby from Alchemy Lacquers. This polish is a gorgeous pink shade that I think is pretty neutral in the base but has this gorgeous red/gold/green shimmer that brings a lot of warmth, which is what made me pick the pink and apricot shades for the flowers and the soft yellow for the stars. The color story, to me, just felt perfect for the design I had in mind.
To start, I applied two coats of Spice Spice Baby to all of my nails.
For the stamping, I started out with a full cover spiderwebs image in a very pale pink shade that adds some texture and visual interest to the background without making it feel too busy. Next, I went in with the layered stamping and applied one pink and one apricot flower per nail. For this design, you start with the color of the petals, then the outline of the flower, then the white fill for the skull, and finally the outline of the skull. And to finish off the design and fill some of that dead space, I went in with the stars pretty much anywhere that felt a bit bare - 2 to 3 stars per nail.
Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a no smudge top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!
