Sample Killah 2014

by - June 24, 2014

On the floor next to my vanity, I have a little Sephora box that came with one of a bunch of gift cards that I got for my last birthday. I decided that it was a cute little box to hold the small collection of foil samples that I had amassed through various purchases and promotions and whatnot. Any makeup junkie knows all about how the foilies add up, don't we?

WELL. Kalyn Lord has a plan this summer for all those foilies and she's inviting her readers to get involved, with a little cash incentive for one lucky participant. I, of course, definitely wanted to get in on this and tear through that little box. It was starting to get full, after all, and it's time to start filling it with new samples instead of old.

The basic gist of Sample Killah is this: Through the month of July, set a goal to use up as many of those collected samples as you can. Use social media to make weekly updates on your progress. Enjoy a little less foilie/little bottle/tiny tube clutter in your life. Possibly win fifty bucks! Sounds good, right? Anyone can participate! SO PARTICIPATE! And look for my weekly updates through the month of July as I try to use up as much as I can from my 40+ deep stash of samples.

Keep reading to take a look at my jumping off point...

As you can see, I have quite a stash... Although I'm thinking that my stash of samples is probably pretty minimal compared to what a lot of people have going on. The cool thing about Sample Killah, though, is that it's not about how many samples you start with - it's just about tearing through however many there are.

Below, I've listed the products that I'm going to be trying to use up next month.

These are all the samples that I'm including in this challenge, but I'm going to take it a step further just for myself. I have a lot of sample sized makeup items that there's no way I could go through in the course of a month - but I can most certainly use them. I've decided that if I have a sample size of a product, I'll be using that over the course of the month and try to work through some of those as well. The products that are likely to be includes are as follows:

- Mascara
- Blush
- Highlight
- Bronzer
- Lip balm
- Lipstick
- Lip gloss

I'll have to go through my drawers and see if there are any other products that can be included to be used over the month of July, but look for a post about that in the future.

Also, look for my weekly progress updates on my Sample Killin'. And don't forget to sign up to play too!

XO.

  1. So funny! I just made it my project last month to use up all of the samples I have managed to accumulate. It was actually kind of fun! Even found a few things I wanted in bigger sizes.
