EMPTIES: September 2015

by - October 07, 2015

I always seem to underestimate just how many products are tucked into my empties bag until I dump them all out to take pictures for these posts. In all honesty, I feel like I'm actually doing a pretty good job of getting through products in my collection lately, which I'm pretty excited about. I used to be quite a product hoarder, holding onto those last few uses of a product because I didn't want them to be gone from my life, but now I've become a lot more intent on cycling through things and moving onto others. That said, this post does feature a few products that I'm pretty sad to see go. So...

Keep reading to take a look at my trash!

1. Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Conditioner (Review)
I reviewed this product really recently and I managed to use it up quite quickly. Unfortunately, this was because I had to use a lot of it at a time. It's a good product and I would definitely recommend it to people who like a lighter conditioner, but I like something a little more hardcore so I don't think I will repurchase this.

2. EVA NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo (Review)
Holy grail! Seriously. This is still my favorite dry shampoo... Unfortunately, I haven't seen it anywhere recently (I usually pick it up at Winners) so I'm all out for now. That said, I will DEFINITELY repurchase this as soon as I see it again because I absolutely love it. So much.In fact, I might go on a hunt later today...

3. Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Hairspray
This came in an Ipsy bag, I believe, and I actually really liked it. I don't use aerosol hairspray very often, or really any hairspray for that matter, so I'm not sure that I'll repurchase anytime soon since I have a few others that I need to work through, but I would definitely consider grabbing this one if I was in need.

4. VICHY Idealia Life Serum (Review)
LOVE THIS. I was really, really sad to see this one go and I already have it in my mind that I'm going to repurchase it as soon as I get through a couple of other serums that I'm working on. Of course, that could change since it is on sale at Shoppers this week and I saw an additional $10 off coupon on some of the packages. How can I turn down a good deal on something I really love and happen to be out of, right?

5. Shara Shara Dream Of Moisture Cleansing Oil
It took me a looooooong time to get through this. It isn't because it wasn't good. It was actually a fairly effective and pleasant cleansing oil and I enjoyed it while I used it. However, there are makeup removing cleansers that I prefer and I won't repurchase this one just for that reason.

6. GLAMGLOW POWERMUD Dual Cleanse Treatment
This was a nice mask. I got, I believe, 3 uses out of this one that I got in a subscription box (Glossybox, I believe) and I was really happy to have had it. However, I still fail to see the reason for the hype - and the price - when it comes to GLAMGLOW masks. This was just okay for me and I won't repurchase.

7. Secret Kiss Oil Free Lip & Eye Remover
As oil free makeup removers go, I'd say this one was pretty good. It was gentle, but it did a pretty good job of getting my makeup off. I don't think I'll repurchase though, just because I prefer either a bi-level makeup remover with oil or a micellar water if I'm looking for something oil free. Just preference. This was good though.

8. Miracle 10 Cleanser II (Review)
This cleanser is good and I did like using it, but I don't think I'd buy it again just because it did leave a little bit of tightness after I used it and I have found some really good cleansers that don't do that, so I'm more likely to stick with them. That said, this is a solid cleanser and I would recommend it to anyone with normal to oily skin.

9. Miracle 10 Night (Review)
What I love about this product is the way that it really seals in all of the other products that I put on my face before it so that they can work optimally. I feel like it creates this really great barrier to keep all of the moisture and skin care benefits actually in my skin while I sleep. I would definitely repurchase this.

10. NAKED Skin Care Coffee Scrub
Did you guys know that Amber from over at The Naked Collective started her own skin care range? I've been meaning to do a review of her products (Look for it in the future!) but in the mean time I can tell you that I already have every intention of getting my hands on a tub of this Coffee Scrub. I absolutely love a coffee scrub for how it invigorates my skin and this is a great one! Definite repurchase... and SOON!

11. NAKED Skin Care Detox Scrub/Bath Soak
Another Naked Skin Care product! I absolutely love this one added to a bath. It has really beautiful oils in it and a beautiful scent that gives a really relaxing feel. This is another one that I'll definitely be repurchasing... Probably at the same time as the coffee scrub. If you're interested in checking out NAKED Skin Care, please check out Amber's Etsy Shop to support independent business! The products definitely get my stamp of approval!

12. Bee Kind Shower Gel
This was a Birchbox inclusion and I was actually really, really impressed with it when I started using it. I may be biased because Lemongrass is one of my all time favorite scents for bath and body products, but the smell of this is absolutely divine. I think it did a good job of cleansing my skin without stripping it and I enjoyed the use. I would definitely consider repurchasing this.

13. Baléa 3 in 1 Cleansing Cloths
I think a friend of mine passed these along to me... Although I can't remember why. They were fine, but nothing to write home about and I don't think I'd repurchase them.

14. Equate Calming Make Up Removing Cleansing Cloths
I picked these up when my beloved Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths were out of stock. I figured that I would give them a try since I never had before and they were really affordable. They were alright, but again they were really nothing to write home about and I probably wouldn't repurchase them.

... Honestly, the only cleansing cloths that I'll go out of my way to repurchase are the Cetaphil ones, which I think says something about their superiority.

Pardon the terrible picture.... Ugh.

1. Naisture Ginseng Mask Pack
I got a 5 pack of these and I'm using them up slowly because they are really, really soppy with a kind of lotiony essence and I'm just not a fan. Definitely will not repurchase.

2. Leaders Insolution Bio-Medi Curing Mask Aqua Dressing
I've had this in my collection for AGES after getting it either in a Memebox or as a free sample with a K-Beauty order. It was really, really good and I wish I had more to use. Would definitely repurchase.

3. THEFACESHOP Real Nature Face Mask Red Ginseng
This one was pretty good, I felt like it was actually doing something to my skin when I was using it. I will likely repurchase this one.

4. THEFACESHOP Real Nature Face Mask Mung Bean
This one has jumped to the top of my list of favorite sheet masks, along with a couple of other really good ones. I could really feel this working on the skin when I used it and I can't wait to repurchase.

5. Skyn Iceland Hydra Cool Firming Eye Gels
I absolutely LOVED the Skyn Iceland cleansing wipes, but these eye gels really underwhelmed me. Perhaps I need to try another set and see if I feel differently, but they really did just seem to do nothing, which surprised me since I've heard such good things. I would try them again, but I'm not sure I would purchase.

6. Global Beauty Care Retinol Under Eye Pads
Shockingly, I absolutely loved these and went out and bought several more pairs of them the day after I tried them. With any of these sheet masks or pads, it's hard to explain the results, but these just made my undereyes look and feel better. Already repurchased and would again.

7. TONYMOLY Mr. Smile Patch
This is really, really silly. I've had it for a long time, but never bothered to try it until it was kind of on a lark. They don't really stick to the face, so you have to be really still or they'll be slipping all over the place, and they didn't really do anything. Cute though. No repurchase.

8. E.G.T. Essence Gel Eyefill Patch
Apparently I'm really into eye patches. I honestly can't really say how I feel about these ones as of yet, because I can't actually remember what they were like when I used them, but look for them in future empties posts because I do have 4 more pairs to try!

9. Global Beauty Care Retinol Spa Essence Mask x3
Can you tell that I found a really good deal on these masks? Also, that I really, really like them? Because I do. I really think these are fantastic masks that actually do something for my skin. Results aren't lasting, but I definitely find my skin looks better for a few days. Will probably repurchase more of these!

So there we go... Another month, another big batch of empties that is making me feel good about the number of products that I'm using up. Honestly, my skin is at the best it's ever been in my adult life at the moment, which is making me think that all these sheet masks I've been using in the past few months have really been helping... so expect to see another long list of used up sheet masks in next month's empties!

Thanks for reading!
