REVIEW: VICHY Aqualia Thermal Extra Sensitive Soothing Ultra Calming Care*
*Product was provided for PR Purposes
Over the past year or so, I've been really impressed with everything I've tried from VICHY- a brand that I'd never actually paid that much mind to in the past. About 6 months ago, you may remember that I reviewed the VICHY IDÉALIA Life Serum & Skin Sleep*, and more recently I've fallen a little bit in love with a couple of other products that I plan on reviewing in the future. You could definitely say that VICHY is officially on my radar in a big way now. So when I had the chance to try out the new VICHY AQUALIA THERMAL Extra Sensitive Soothing Ultra Calming Care*, a deep hydrating lotion for dry, very dry, and sensitive skin, I was completely in and excited to try it out. This is the time of year when my skin is quite dry and, as a direct result, much more sensitive than the rest of the year, so this product sounded right up my alley.

ABOUT:
Highly concentrated in Vitamin B3, a renowned soothing ingredient, and Vichy Thermal Spa Water, recognized for its calming and fortifying properties, the formula soothes and hydrates to relieve irritation and dryness and restore the skin's comfort.
Suitable for extra-sensitive to allergy prone and uncomfortable skin caused by external aggressions.
This Hermetic packaging is designed to minimize contamination and preserve the formula's purity.
You guys know that I'm a fiend for packaging, so let's talk about that first. Obviously I love that this boasts a hermetic packaging, because that really does mean that it'll be protected against bacteria from your fingers that can grow and just... ugh. Let's not talk about what it can do, shall? Anyway, this has a really solid pump that I find dispenses just the right amount of product. I do wish that I could see how much product was left in the bottle, but that really is just a minor nitpick. While this may not be the prettiest girl at the dance (let's be real, the IDEALIA Life Serum packaging holds that title) this is sturdy, simple and functional, which is pretty damn perfect for me.
What makes this moisturizer suitable for sensitive skin is that it is formulated without preservatives, parabens, alcohol, or colourant. For me, what makes this special is that it's rich enough to be incredibly hydrating to my skin, but not so thick that it feels heavy. During the colder months, I definitely need more intense hydration to my skin because it gets quite dry and I end up with dry patches that look pretty much horrible, but I find that when I use a small amount of this in the morning it keeps my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day without disrupting the cosmetic products that I put on top of this. At night, I like to use this in conjunction with a hydrating overnight mask, because I feel like they work really well together to help me wake up with really plump, healthy looking skin.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to add a little bit of extra moisture to their winter skincare routine without fear of overwhelming or irritating the skin. This also claims to work well to soothe irritation in the skin, but because my skin really hasn't been irritated since I started using it, I can't really speak to that. I honestly can't say how I think this would work with oilier skin types, since that it just definitely not my issue, but this definitely doesn't have a greasy feel to it, so it could be worth a try. Still, it is recommended for dry to very dry skin. For those who are looking for anti-aging, I would definitely recommend using this with an anti-aging serum because this just doesn't pack that kind of punch.
Overall, this product is just keeping my burgeoning love for VICHY alive and inspiring me to try incorporating even more of their products into my routine. I would recommend this product!
