SUBSCRIPTION: Ipsy Glam Bag March 2016

by - March 18, 2016

It's that time again! Showing you guys what I got in my Ipsy bag is one of my favorite posts to write each month - probably because opening my Ipsy bag is one of my favorite beauty indulgences each month. The sneak peeks and spoilers this month were really exciting, so I think there's going to be a lot of great bags this month. While I didn't get my dream bag, I think my bag turned out to be pretty great.

Keep reading to take a look at what I got this month!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Pink Lust
Full Size - Value $10

I've previously reviewed this formula and, while it isn't quite what I was expecting, I really do like it. I find myself reaching for it because it's really comfortable and easy to wear. I was hoping, when I saw that I would be getting this, that I was going to get a shade I didn't already own - and I did! I don't know how often this vibrant nearly neon fuscia is going to get worn, because it's a little out of my comfort zone, but it's absolutely beautiful. If you want to see it swatched on my arm and my lip, check it out on Instagram!

Marc Anthony Argan Oil Of Morocco Perfect Blowdry Smoothing Cream
50ml Deluxe Sample - Value $2.50

I've had really good luck with products from the Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco line in the past, particularly their deep conditioner treatments, so I'm really excited to try this. One of my biggest problems when I blow dry my hair is that it can tend to get a little frizzy with flyaways and I always need to use something to smooth it, so I've got high hopes for this!

Vera Mona Lotus Eyeshadow in Clover
0.05oz Travel Size - Value - $5.00 (Estimated - This is currently only available in a palette.)

This reminds me a lot of NARS Orgasm blush, which I figured I could fall back to if I didn't like it on my eyes. HOWEVER, I used this on my eyes today and I'm a little bit in love. The formula is incredibly smooth with good pigmentation and it applies to the eyes really nicely. It's such an interesting peach, because it has a little bit of brightness and the really pretty glow from the gold shimmer. I used it blended out with a chocolate brown in the crease and I just absolutely love the look. I think I'll be reaching for this a lot this spring.

Beau Gachis Paris Eyeshadow Brush
Full Size Tool - Value $ 12.00

I'm not mad at this brush. I tend to like my eye brushes to be either a little stiffer or quite a bit fluffier than this one, so it's not my favorite style, but I used it to apply the Vera Mona shade this morning and it did a pretty good job of laying down the color. Overall, I think this would likely be more exciting to people who don't have as massive a brush collection as I've managed to amass, but it's a decent brush and I'm not disappointed that I got it.

Pixi By Petra Blush Duo in Rose Gold
4.5g Full Size - Value $18.00 (Sold with Kabuki brush)

Oddly enough, I felt completely different about the two sides of this duo once I swatched it than I did when I first saw it. I LOVED the rosy mauve blush shade on site, but it actually swatches really sheer and when I tried it on my cheeks I didn't really get much pay off from it. I was pretty unsure about the highlight shade, because I felt like it might have a little too much of that antique gold hue to it, but on my cheeks it gives the smoothest, prettiest natural looking highlight without really emphasizing the texture I have on my skin.

Total Value: $47.50

Of course, the total value of this bag is an approximation because of the shadow and the fact that the blush duo is sold with a kabuki, but I feel like it's a valid assessment. Overall, I'm happy with this bag. For me, the biggest winner in here is the eyeshadow. I love the texture and pigmentation of it and the shade is absolutely gorgeous. This has actually enticed me to consider trying out the Vera Mona palette!

I'd love to hear what you got in your bag this month in the comments!
