MONTHLY FAVORITES: June 2016
I swear, you guys, I can't believe it's already July. I know that this is a thing that people say pretty much all the time, but I really have no idea where June went. I've been incredibly busy this past month, doing a lot of socializing and spending time at the beach or the pool, and my makeup routine specifically has definitely shifted to being more about summery looks and keeping things simple. That's really what my favorites are about this month!
Keep reading to take a look at what I've been loving for the past month!
SUPER FACIALIST BY UNA BRENNAN VITAMIN C+ BRIGHTEN Skin Renew Cleansing Oil
This has actually been in my collection for quite a while, but it had gotten tucked in the closet as I started trying more and more new cleansing products for the purpose of reviewing them. This month I ran out of the one I had been using and pulled this back out - and I'm completely in love with it. For me, this does a really good job of taking my makeup off and leaving my skin feeling fresh without stripping it, but the most winning part of this is the bright citrus scent. I've actually been using this in the morning as my skin cleanse because the scent is invigorating and it preps me well for makeup. LOVE.
AMOREPACIFIC Green Tea Seed Treatment Oil*
This is probably the most luxurious skin care product I've ever gotten the chance to use and I've fallen completely in love with it. Since I've been using it consistently, I feel like it has really brightened my skin and improved the texture of it while keeping it really, really hydrated. I think I might cry when I run out of this.
Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
This is another product that I've had lying around that I pulled out this month. Now, here's the thing, I don't actually love this as a mask because I don't like the feel of it just sitting on my face, but I didn't want to waste it so I decided to try it as a scrub. My skin does best when I use a physical exfoliant about once a week, so I've been reaching for this and it's amazing. My skin is obscenely soft after I use it and looks absolutely beautiful.
12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment
I had a bottle of this before (it's actually in my empties this month) and I got another one in last month's Ipsy and it's become a total go to for me. I've been spending some time in water, both lake water and the pool, and it's doing a number on my hair, so I like to use this after I've been swimming and really give some love to my hair - and it works great. I'm actually about halfway through this second bottle and I'm going to have to get my hands on more!
COVERGIRL Clean Matte BB Cream for Oily Skin
I recently reviewed this BB cream and I just haven't stopped reaching for it since. I think I'm going to need to pick up a deeper shade as I start to get a bit of a tan because I honestly just don't want to use anything else. It's got a beautiful finish and coverage, it lasts on me absolutely all day, and my skin seems to really like it as well! Being that this is super affordable, I think everyone should try it!
blinc Eyebrow Mousse
The reason I've been reaching for this so much this past month is twofold. First, it holds up amazingly to water - which includes sweat - so it stays on all day no matter what I'm doing. Second, it's one of the only brow gels that I really feel like I can use without first filling my brows with a pencil or powder because it gives me a lot of volume and I find it really easy to apply for natural looking brows.
CLARINS Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil
I swear, this might be my new obsession. I'm not a gloss person, so I didn't really think I was going to like this, but the way that it feels on the lips is absolutely amazing and I really do feel like it's nourishing and hydrating my lips while I wear it. I'm using a mini that I got from Shoppers, but you can bet this is going to be a full size purchase sooner than later.
Physicians Formula Eye Booster 3in1 Liquid Eyeliner
I'm just going to go out on a limb and tell you guys that this is my absolute favorite liquid eyeliner. First of all, I've had this for AGES and it hasn't dried out or gotten less black. It's pretty much the easiest to apply liquid liner I've ever tried and I feel like I always get a really smooth, super black wing. This is going to be a repurchase forever.
These next three all go together, actually, because there's one very specific look I've been going for pretty consistently over the last month and all I need are two of these products to create it. This was inspired by Emily from Beauty Broadcast on Youtube when she talked about pairing her Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige with a glitter pigment from Too Faced for a super simple look. I decided I'd give it a go with this pigment from Naked Cosmetics and then tried it with this marsk loose powder single and I love both of the looks that come out of these pairings.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in 80 Creamy Beige
This is probably my favorite Color Tattoo. It's a very neutral, mid-toned warm matte taupe shade that works really well blended all over the lid and up into the crease. It also, I've discovered, works really beautifully topped with a metallic or shimmery pigment all over the lid. Love this. Have never used it as much as I've used it the past couple of weeks.
marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in You're Toast
This shade is absolutely gorgeous. It's a gold shade that doesn't lean too yellow, which is necessary for me, and has a beautiful satin metallic finish. I got this in a subscription bag, I believe, and I never thought I'd end up using it... but I'm already looking into repurchasing because I love it so much.
Naked Cosmetics Sierra Nevada Mica Pigment in #SN-02
This is another one that I got in a subscription and never really thought I'd use and am now obsessed with. This shade is perfectly, it has just enough sparkle to make a look special without being over the top and the champagne tone of it pairs really well with pretty much anything. This also has me looking into picking up some of the pigment stacks from Naked Cosmetics. This is a whole new world opened to me!
Honestly, guys, I know there's a lot of oldies in this bunch and not so much new stuff, but this really is what I've been reaching for most and loving this month. I kind of feel proud of myself for shopping my collection so much and really finding ways to use things that were either forgotten or never given much of a chance before. Seems like that's the theme of the month - Pull out old things, find ways to use and love them.
I'd love to hear what you've been loving this month in the comments!
