REVIEW: Éminence Organic Skin Care*

Anyone who reads this blog knows that I get really excited about trying out different skin care products. Over the past year or so, I've really found my groove with skin care and I've really seen a significant difference in the overall appearance of my skin and how it behaves over all. I think skin care is a really personal thing and can be very specific to your personal skin type, so when I review it, I try to do so in the most constructive way possible - because I know that what works for me might not work for someone else, and vice versa.

Recently, I got the opportunity to try out 4 products from Éminence Organic Skin Care - the Firm Skin Acai Cleanser*, the Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist*, the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant*, and the Stone Crop Hydrating Gel*. I've been using all 4 of the products for a couple of weeks now and I'm ready to give you my thoughts on them!

Éminence Firm Skin Acai Cleanser With Botanical Hyaluronic Acid*
Antioxidant-rich acai berries are perfect for revitalizing mature skin. This cream cleanser also blends hyaluronic acid and seabuckthorn oil to restore the appearance of elasticity to the skin and present a more youthful look.

At first, this cleanser was so different from what I'm used to that I was a little bit thrown, but I got used to it after a couple of uses. This is a cream cleanser that you apply to dry or slightly damp skin. It's purple, which I assume is on account of the berries as this doesn't contain any synthetic dyes. It also has a strong fruity smell to it, which I actually really enjoy while I'm using it. It's formulated for mature skin, but I also think it would be a good fit for anyone with dry to very dry skin who struggles to find a cleanser that isn't stripping and irritating.

For me, I just didn't find that this was the best fit for my summer skin. I think I need something a little more intensely cleansing to deal with slightly oilier skin at this time of year, and this product was just a little too rich for me at this point. I would recommend this to people with dry to very dry skin who find that most cleansers are just too much for their skin and need all of their products to have a hydration factor. I'm going to hold onto this and try it on my winter skin, which leans significantly more dry than my summer skin, because I suspect it might be a better fit for me then.

Éminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant with Lactic Acid*
Achieve a bright and radiant looking complexion with our Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant. Rice powder absorbs oil while lactic and salicylic acids remove dead skin cells. The strawberries and rhubarb infuse the skin with antioxidants.

This is definitely the product I was most excited to try, because I've loved the idea of a physical exfoliant with an acid component. I've also really been wanting to try lactic acid as a part of my routine, because I never have before. This is a powder exfoliant that you mix with water to create a paste. It took me a couple of uses to get the right consistency, but once I did, I really liked how this worked with my skin. I found that I didn't want the paste to be too thick or too thin, because both ways it was harder to work with. I applied this immediately after my cleansing step and worked it into my skin in circular motions for about a minute.

I think this did a really nice job of polishing the skin without irritating it and my skin felt really soft and smooth when I was finished with it. I do think I'd need to use this more often than I personally like to physically exfoliate my skin in order to get the best results, but I do think it's a really great product and I think that I could use this all year long no matter where my skin is at.

Éminence Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist*
A collagen boosting toner with Natural Retinol Alternative and Swiss Green Apple Stem Cells for all skin types, especially mature. Your skin will feel smoother and appear tighter with the energizing boost of fragrant neroli oil.

I'm just going to go ahead and say this straight away - THIS IS MY FAVORITE. At least of all of these products. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it, but pretty much from the first time I tried it, I was sold on it. I use this as my second toner step (after I use an acid) as a hydrating toner, and it works beautifully. The mist is really light, but you can really feel the hydration that it gives your skin - which I think is really rare with a mist, so I was impressed. I actually like to use this both morning and night and my skin seems to be loving it.

One thing I will say is that this does have a strong scent. I personally find the scent to be lovely and I really enjoy the whole experience of it, but if you're not into a strong natural, slightly herbal scent I would maybe avoid this. Like I said, I love the scent, but I definitely think it would turn some people off.

Éminence Stone Crop Hydrating Gel*
The powerful cactus juice of stone crop give the skin instant, deep-penetrating moisture that leaves skin with a smooth matte finish. This hydrating gel will soothe, heal, and even skin tone to minimize the appearance fine lines and pigmentation.

This is definitely my least favorite product of the bunch for my personal skin, but I do think it would have a place for a different skin type than my own. Because my skin is normal leaning dry, I tend to really like to add a lot of hydration to my skin, and I just found this to be a little too light for my tastes. That being said, I think this could be a great option for people with really oily skin who want to use a moisturizer but find a lot of moisturizers to be too intense for their skin.

I find that this product has a very light scent, though I think that's just the natural scent of the gel rather than an added fragrance, and shouldn't be a problem for people with a sensitivity.

Overall, I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to try these products and I'm interested in trying out more products from Éminence Organics. I think that I would definitely repurchase the Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist* and all three of the other products would be ones that I would recommend to people with different skin types, needs and concerns than myself.

Éminence Organics products are available at spas as well as BuyNaturalSkinCare.com.
