REVIEW: L'Oreal REVITALIFT Bright Reveal Peel Pads
It's been about a year since I've gotten really into using exfoliating acid pads as a part of my nighttime skin care routine and I'm definitely on board. I feel like my skin responds really well to glycolic acid, so that's the specific acid that I tend to be drawn to. I'm no expert on these types of things and I'm definitely learning by trial and error what my skin likes, and I'm also trying to learn as much as I can from people who do know what they're talking about. If you're interested in more information about exfoliating toners, a great resource is Caroline Hirons. She knows what she's talking about and I can attest personally that since I've been following her blog and Youtube channel and learning from her, my skin care routine has improved and my skin has never been better. But moving on....
As soon as I saw the L'Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads announced, I knew that I would be picking them up and trying them out and as soon as I saw them on the shelf they were in my basket and I tried them out for the first time that night. Now that I've been using them for a few weeks, I'm ready to give you guys my thoughts.

About:
RevitaLift® Bright Reveal Peel Pads are a dermatologist inspired anti-wrinkle plus brightening treatment. This daily peel pad resurfaces dull, uneven tone and rough texture to reveal fresh looking skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles over time. It is the first step to help skin absorb our powerfully concentrated treatments. Formulated with Glycolic Acid, a gold standard in brightening, our formula is clinically tested to gently yet effectively exfoliate dead skin cells to help renew the skin’s surface layer.
One of my biggest issues with my skin is texture. Admittedly, I didn't take very good care of my skin in my 20s, back when it never seemed like a big deal because my skin wasn't really too bad, and I'm definitely paying for it now that I'm in my 30s. This is the biggest draw for exfoliating acid pads for me, because I do definitely find that they help to resurface my skin and keep everything looking and feeling a lot smoother overall.
I choose pads over a bottle of acid toner simply because I like the convenience. I use this after my cleansing steps (of which there are two) as a sort of prep for other products. With pads, you can just pull one out, swipe it over the skin, and then toss it. Easy and with no mess, so I have no excuse to skip the step.
One thing that I am pretty picky about is that pad itself. I don't want a pad that's going to feel nice on my skin and is going to hold up while I'm actually using it. These pads are quite comfortable and I don't find them abrasive on my skin, but they also feel really sturdy so that they hold up well to the application and don't get flimsy or torn.
I have two tips for using these types of pads that I've learned and feel like I should pass on. First, store them upside down so that the pad that you're using is always the most moist. This jar is good for that because there's no leaking. They're not over-saturated pads, but they're certainly moist enough to get the job done. My second tip is to use both sides of the pad. I use one side over my whole face and then flip it over and use the other side. I don't really know if this is making a difference, but I feel like I get the most out of each pad doing it this way.
The first time I used these pads, there was a slight skin to my skin, but after that I really only felt a slight tingle - which is actually something I look for. Unless you have very sensitive skin, I don't think that these are going to be too intense for someone who is just starting to dip their toe into exfoliating pads.
The thing that really impressed me the most about these pads is how they helped to smooth my skin when I got home from my trip a couple of weeks ago and was really suffering from a lot of texture. Within a few days of consistent use as part of my nightly skin care routine, my skin was back to feeling and looking as smooth and bright as it did before my trip.
My overall thoughts on the L'Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads are honestly really, really good. I think that it does a great job, particularly for the price, and for people who've been looking for a more affordable exfoliating pad I think this is a great option. I also think it's a great option for people who are considering trying out this type of product for the first time and aren't sure they want to spend the money on a higher cost option without knowing how it's going to work for them.
I'm almost finished my first tub and these are 100% on my repurchase list! Two thumbs up and these get my recommendation.
