MANI MONDAY: Simple Glittery Unicorn Nails
Hey guys! I have to admit that this week I'm a little bit underwhelmed by the mani I put together... but the base polish is such an insane stunner that I just had to use it for this month's #CBBxManiMonday glitter theme. Admittedly, this theme has been tricky for me and I think I need to stop overthinking it because I have some beautiful glittery polishes in my collection that suit the theme perfectly. This mani actually came about because I applied the base polish and then went and sat outside for a bit and something about the way this polish explodes in direct sunlight had my min screaming for magic and unicorns, so...

I started with a base of Emily De Molly - Calibrated, which is a few years old now and no longer actually available but really gives you an idea of just how stunning EDM polishes are. It's a deep purple jelly base that's just packed with pink holographic glitters and the most stunning multi-chrome flakies. Seriously, friends, I need to get my hands on more Emily De Molly because... guh. (Legitimately, I paused typing this paragraph to head over and browse the EDM selection over at Girly Bits, which I believe is the only stockist here in Canada.) Anyway, just look at all the dimension and pretty in those macros!
Choosing a stamping polish was actually the hardest part of this and I'll admit that I'm still not sure I chose right. I wanted to use my BeautyBigBang XL-007 Stamping Plate* for this look and I really wanted the images to pop, so I went with my Maniology Bam White Stamping Polish and it definitely popped. I chose three images to go for a sort of whimsical look.
I finished with a coat of Unt Ready For Take Off to set the stamping and then added a generous coat of OPI Plumping Top Coat for shine and voila!

So... I have to say that this isn't my favorite mani lately, but I do think it turned out pretty cute and the base colour is enough to have me basically swooning. Everytime I use a polish like this, I definitely feel like I need to get my hands on a bigger collection of indies because... I mean... LOOK AT THOSE MACROS!
Anyway, be sure to head over to Cosmetic Proof, See The World In PINK and Tea & Nail Polish today to check out how they used the glitter theme for inspiration this week for #CBBxManiMonday!
