FEATURED FIVE: Canadian Beauty Brands Part 1
Hey guys! With it being July, the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network is featuring Canadian brands all month and I wanted to play too. There are so many Canadian brands that I love in my collection, from bigger, widely available brands to more indie type brands, and I really couldn't narrow it down to just five... so I decided to do two Featured Five posts highlighting five products from Canadian brands that get a lot of love in my collection and that I really think are worth checking out!
Keep reading to take a look!
Cake Beauty Hand Cream
In this photo, I featured the (very battered) Desserted Island Raw Tahitian Coconut Elixir Enriched Hand Lotion that I had living in my purse for the past while (hence the battered appearance), but the truth is that I really, really love all of the Cake Beauty hand creams and I tend to cycle through them based on what I'm looking for at any given time. Head over here and here for a couple of the other options. Obviously, the first thing that stands out about these hand creams is their absolutely insanely delicious scents, but they also all have really beautiful but varied textures to suit a lot of different needs. Personally, I can't even choose a favorite.. although as I'm typing this I just applied a little bit of this one and I just absolutely love it. Cake products are available here in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Tin Feather Velvet Lipstick in Velour
This lipstick is one of my absolute favorites in my collection and was actually the first product that I knew I absolutely had to include when I started thinking about this post. You can check out my original review with swatches here. This is just such a gorgeous lipstick with a creamy, nourishing texture and a natural matte finish that's so easy and comfortable to wear that I always find myself somewhat surprised at how much I love it whenever I reach for it. The packaging has gotten a little bit fancier since I picked up this simple black tube and I'm probably going to pick up another one soon, and would highly recommend you head over to the Tin Feather Etsy Shop and check this one out as well as the other shades! Personally, I think I need to grab a couple more of her nudes!
Pure Anada Luminous Eyeshadow in Champagne
I don't reach for loose eyeshadows as often as I used to, but when I do I tend to grab for the Pure Anada ones in my collection. I have several other shades from this Manitoba based brand in my collection, but I actually have one go to look that I tend to default to on lighter makeup days that involves a taupe cream shadow all over the lid and into the crease and then this packed on the inner half of the lid for some luminosity. There are definitely some bolder and more unique shades in this line, but I chose to feature this one because I feel like it's both really universal and is actually a real staple in my personal collection. You can check out more from Pure Anada over at their website!
Meriance Collagene Night Repair Cream*
Usually when I get to try out a brand that I've never tried before, there's a standout product or two, and when I got to try out Meriance late last year the one that I really, really fell in love with was this one. On nights when I really want to lock in hydration and skin care ingredients, this is what I reach for. Honestly, it was a bit of a skin saviour last winter. Based in Quebec, Meriance definitely features innovative and effective luxury skin care that has really, really worked for me - what I've tried anyway. And personally, I just love that Canada is really bringing some heavy hitters when it comes to solid skin care formulas and I would definitely put Meriance on that list. If you're interested in checking out more of their range, you can check out their website!
Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright Even Skin-Tone Enhancer & Brightener*
Indeed Labs is a brand that I've personally been using and absolutely loving for... probably about 6 or 7 years now? The first product of theirs that I ever tried was Hydraluron, which I still absolutely love and recommend to people constantly, and I'll admit that I might have featured it if I currently had a tube on hand. That being said, Pepta-Bright has been a real winner for me as well. It's described as a moisturizing cream serum and it contains 7 peptides intended to brighten skin and lighten dark spots. I've found that with consistent use this is a really beautiful brightening product that I really enjoy using in my nighttime routine. Honestly, I feel like if you've been sleeping on products from Indeed, you should definitely give them a go. Indeed Labs products are available at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada!
Really, Canada has a really great beauty industry and I feel like I could do a month worth a posts about Canadian brands and the products that I really love from them. Definitely check out these ones and be sure to come back next week to check out another five great products from Canadian brands that I personally really, really love!
Thanks for reading!
