12 NAILS OF HALLOWEEN: Creepy Grunge Holo Zombie Nails

by - October 28, 2019

Hey, loves! For the last day of 12 Nails Of Halloween, I was a little torn on what I wanted to do, but I kept circling back around to this scary silhouette of a zombie/monster/witch face from the BeautyBigBang XL-091 Stamping Plate that I picked up this year. It wasn't an image that I actually thought I would use, but I was just so drawn to it that I felt like I needed to figure out a mani to use it in. I also really wanted my last mani to be a little bit dark and creepy, since it is Halloween after all, so I kept the colour palette dark (with some white for contrast) and kept the images distinctly grungy.

Keep reading for a closer look and to see how I put it together!

Because the base shade I was going to use is quite glittery (and this month of nail art has been a little rough on my nails), I started with a coat of Unt Ready for Take Off Peel Off Base Coat on all of my nails and let that dry. Next, I went in with two coats of Glam Polish Bride Of Frankenstein from last year's Halloween Horror Shop event, which is a GORGEOUS berry shade that's packed to bursting with multichrome flakies, irridescent flakies, and holo glitter. Seriously, guys, Glam Polish just kills me and this shade is such a stunner. I wish the pictures could do justice to it.

For the stamping, I wanted to keep it grungy and I want to have that really high contrast of the black layered over white, so I used Maniology's Bam! White and Straight Up Black Stamping Polishes for all of the images. For my middle finger, I used that face image from BeautyBigBang XL-091. For the grungy aspects of the rest of my nails, I used various images from Nicole Diary-076, which is a marble plate but also worked well for this grungy almost splattered look. And finally, for the BOO! on my middle finger, I used BornPrettyStore BPL-031.

Finally, I finished with a generous coat of Seche Vive Quick Dry Top Coat and voila!
