NAIL ART: Rich Burgundy & Pink Bubble Hearts Nails

by - February 01, 2023

THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.

Even casual readers of this blog will know by know that if nothing else, I am a person who loves a theme when it comes to nail art. I think January tends to be a bit of a struggle for me and I end up with a sort of random assortment of designs because I've been so steeped in theme that it can be hard to step out of, so I'm always happy to get to jump back into a theme for Valentine's Day. I'm actually not a huge Valentine's Day person, it just isn't something I care so much about, but I'm here for the reds and pinks and hearts and cuteness on my nails all day.

Keep reading for more!

Admittedly, my instinct with this type of mani would normally be to either have a soft base with colored stamping or to have this sort of deep base with white stamping, but I really wanted to pair this really sort of cute bubble heart stamping image with this bubble gum pink stamping polish and a soft base didn't feel quite right. I ended up instead going with this really deep vampy red shade packed with red to magenta to violet shifting iridescent flakes from Painted Polish. Something about this vampy shade just felt like an interesting pairing with the almost cartoony, super cute stamping I had in mind.

To start I applied two coats of my base polish to all of my nails and let those dry down.

For the stamping, I knew that I wanted to use this bubbly heart image from the Pueen 111 Stamping Plate, which contains 4 larger, sort of triangular stamping images. I like this type of image because it gives a little bit more freedom when it comes to placement and you can really easily get a different look on each nail. In retrospect I wasn't quite as successful on this front as I had hoped I would be, but I do think the overall mani does give the appearance of each nail being unique.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine. And voila!

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty stoked about starting Valentine's Day nails and I'm planning on all of my posts up until the 14th having the hearty lovey mushy theme - apologies if that's not your thing! Also, if you're interested in any of the Pueen products I used in this mani, they're all available from Amazon and they all definitely get my recommendation.

Thanks for reading!
