THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.
So it's the last week of April and it's finally beginning to look a little bit like spring is springing here on the Canadian prairies. Not quite warm enough for sandals or short sleeves yet, but we're getting there. And my brain is already and has already been there. But since we're coming up on May - how is time passing so quickly??? - it's time to transition into flowers. Right? I mean... maybe? Anyway, I kept it simple but, I think, pretty cute for today's mani!

I knew I wanted to keep everything about this mani really, really soft and add pink and yellow accents for a very springy look, so I decided to try out a polish that was kindly gifted to me by a friend recently for my base. It's a very, very soft pink jelly packed with pink shimmer, iridescent flakes, and gold flakes. It felt like a really logical pick with the pink and yellow plan and I think it turned out quite well. I started with two coats of my base polish, which was still sheer but gave a nice camouflage to my natural nails.
I kept the stamping really, really simple with this mani and applied this lattice and flowers image to the tips of all of my nails using a white stamping polish. Honestly, I easily could have left it right there for a really soft, subtle spring nail art design, but I'm nothing if not a kitchen sink kind of a girl so I decided to add colors. Using a dotting tool along with pink and yellow stamping polishes, I went in and filled in the flowers. I decided to alternate the color placement on the nails and I used a dual ended dotting tool with a larger dot in the center flower and smaller dots on the ones moving towards the edges of the nails.
Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in using a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!
