HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Smoky Blue Zombie Silhouette Nails

by - October 17, 2023

I haven't actually used many Clear Jelly Stamper plates up to this point, but if the experience of putting together today's mani is any indication I definitely think that I should be trying more. From the moment I saw this plate, I wanted to put together this mani and pretty much this mani exactly. I just loved the idea of the really spooky and creepy zombie silhouettes coming out of the darkness like something straight out of a horror movie. And with these layering images, it actually came together really quickly and easily.

When I chose the color story for this mani, I will confess I was a bit constrained by the stamping polishes I had available to me in my collection since I wanted to create depth by keeping everything in the same color family. Ultimately, I ended up choosing a sort of ashy medium blue for my base and then bringing it a deeper, ashier blue, a navy that ended up pulling a bit brighter than I was expecting, and then a grounding black for the final layer.

I started by applying one coat of Dimension Nails Mangrove Kingfisher* as my base. With most Dimension Nails polishes that I've tried I've found that you can easily get away with one coat and this one is definitely no exception. Amazing, seriously!

For the stamping, I started with the ashy blue stamping polish and applied the full cover tree silhouette image to all of my nails. Next, I went in the smaller sort of hoard of zombies image and applied it to each of my nails as well. I applied this image towards the bottom of my nail, but not quite. Next, I added the ground silhouette image in the same color to fill in the gap between the bottom of the stamping image and the base of my nail. Finally. I went in with black stamping polish and applied the mani images of either a large zombie or a cluster of zombie hands coming out of the ground and repeated the ground silhouette image as well.

Once I was happy with my stamping, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat before finishing with a matte top coat to bring down the shine. And voila!
