I really, really wanted to do some skull flowers this year - which you can check out in this post - but I also really wanted to do some skull cherries. There's just something that's insanely adorable about them, in my opinion, and this was yet another reason that I picked up the Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H-100 Mystic Hallows stamping plate. I swear, this is just the plate that keeps on giving at this point and I am very much here for it.

There is definitely something to be said for keeping it very, very simple with your Halloween nails and just applying a full cover spiderweb image, don't you think? Simple, effective, and you can pretty much create any vibe you want based on what you do with the base polish/design. For this mani, I combined smoky shades of blue with my favorite full cover spiderweb image to create this simple design with a surprising amount of visual interest.

I have a tendency to put off reverse stamping because I convince myself that it's very difficult and will stress me out. Because of this, this mani was one of the first that I conceived when I was planning this year's Halloween nails and is one of the later ones I actually put together on the nails. And, like always, it was much less stressful than I convinced myself it was going to be and the final product is SO worth it.

I feel like every year I tend to lean heavily into one specific type of design - in previous years, it has often been spiderwebs - but this year the winner is definitely sheet ghosts. I've done them creepy and playful and even, I think, pretty. But now it's time for full on cuteness. The undeniable cuteness of the sheet ghosts on the Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H100 Mystic Hallows Stamping Plate is just absolutely perfect to pair with some flowers and some stars and a playful gradient base.

I've been absolutely loving the Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H100 Mystic Hallows plate for this year's Halloween nails and I've admittedly gone a little mad with power creating different designs from it. The cool thing is that it's such a versatile stamping plate and the number of designs you can create from it feels absolutely endless. I wish all plates had this much variety and worked so seamlessly. Anyway, I'm still getting my bearings when it comes to layered stamping, so my lines aren't quite perfect on this one, but I still love it so much!

I don't often do mani's where all of my nails are the same these days, but when I do, I make sure that I have an interesting base to go along with it - mostly! For this mani, I decided to do a style of gradient that I'm not sure I've ever attempted before and then paired it with some really crisp, simple Halloween stamping that I think manages to be impactful despite its simplicity.

Did I buy the Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H-100 Mystic Hallows stamping plate because I wanted to do some version of this mani? I did. I mean, at least in part. I've actually wanted to do a fun, girly skull flowers for the past couple of years but I only got my hands on this plate recently - so it was time! I think there's something to be said for going for girly, fun Halloween nails over the sort of classic spooky designs that might feel a bit more on the nose. For this design, I combined two of the most popular mani's I've ever posted together to create a sort of... super mani! Earlier this year, I posted this rainbow mani that quickly became one of the most popular designs I posted all year. So, of course, when it came time to start planning Halloween nail art, I had an inkling that I wanted to use that design as the base so I decided to mash it up with this design to create something new and I'm obsessed! I feel like this could almost be a sort of signature type of design, since it also employs my much loved opal base.

I feel like this is definitely the year of sheet ghost designs for me - and I am 100% not mad about it. There are so many things that you can do with sheet ghosts, from cute and playful to really spooky and scary. I actually picked up the stamping plate I used for this design - Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H-78 The Ghost - specifically with this design in mind and it came together so quickly and easily that I found myself wondering why it's taken me so long to get into layered stamping.

Recently, I ordered myself a set of Pueen stamping polishes, many of which I didn't already have in my collection, and I was super excited to use a few of them in this mani. If you're unfamiliar with Pueen stamping polishes, the quality on them is INCREDIBLY good and I continue to be impressed every time I try a new shade. And honestly, what better way to try out some new stamping polishes than to create a paint splatter mani?

Sometimes I get in my head about layered stamping, convincing myself that I'm no good at it or that it'll just be stressful and I should do something else. With today's mani, I will admit to almost talking myself out of even trying a few times before I finally gave it a go and promptly fell in love with it. I think layered stamping is a lot more forgiving than it might seem and as long as you take your time and pay attention, you can get absolutely amazing results. I am madly in love with how this design turned out!

When I was planning out the nail art for this year's marathon of Halloween nails, one of the designs I kept seeing all over Pinterest was this really simple design featuring a sheet ghost and some orange flowers. All of the designs I saw were from professional nail techs and were hand painted, but I really wanted to figure out how I could make my own version of this design using stamping and I'm honestly beyond thrilled with how it came together in the end!

The first year I started doing Halloween nails here on the blog, I did my first version of this mani and I've done a different version of it every year since. This is actually the seventh version of this design I've done and I just couldn't break the tradition even though I'm pretty sure the stamping plate I used for this mani is long discontinued. Still, I love this design and I think it actually still holds up even 6 years later.
