HALLOWEEN NAIL ART: Blobby Neon Halloween Abstract Nails
THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.
When I was perusing the internet in search of inspiration for this year's Halloween nails, a style that really jumped out at me is what I like to call "blobby abstracts" with spooky Halloween stamping. As a big fan of some blobbiness, I knew that I had to put together my own version of this style and I knew just the plate I wanted to use to create it - the Pueen Halloween Party 01 Stamping Plate!

With any blobby design, I feel like color story is pretty important. For this one, I decided to go with a slightly pinky sheer base color just to sort of neutralize the look of my natural nails and disguise any imperfections in my nail bed. For the blobs, I decided to go with four bright colors. Purple, orange and green, in my opinion, are the Halloweenest colours of all, so of course I grabbed for those, and I also grabbed for a bright neon pink because it just fit the vibe.
I started by applying one coat of my sheer base polish to all of my nails and let that dry down.
I took the blobs really, really easy on this one, applying them straight from the brush and trying not to be overly precious about the placement and shape. I think that's a huge thing when it comes to getting a successful blobby design - you just have to be a little loosey goosey about it.
For the stamping, the images I wanted to use were a bit bigger than the scale I was looking for with this design, so I took the opportunity to use my Moyra Supersizer Stamper for the first time. This allowed me to shrink the images down just enough that they gave me the scale I was looking for to go with the blobs. Once the stamping was finished, I felt like I needed just a wee bit more, so I went in with a dotting tool and added some clustered dots to each nail just to add a little something.
Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a generous layer of glossy top coat. And voila!
