HALLOWEEN NAIL ART | Floral Vintage Ghost Nails

by - October 07, 2024

When I was planning out the nail art for this year's marathon of Halloween nails, one of the designs I kept seeing all over Pinterest was this really simple design featuring a sheet ghost and some orange flowers. All of the designs I saw were from professional nail techs and were hand painted, but I really wanted to figure out how I could make my own version of this design using stamping and I'm honestly beyond thrilled with how it came together in the end!

When it came to the color story for this mani, I really wanted to stick with something similar to the inspiration mani's. For the base, I decided to go with Essie's Carols & Caviar, which is a gorgeous cool toned dark grey creme shade. For the flowers, I went with a really warm, midtoned orange that I think really leans into the vintage vibes I was going for. And, of course, I kept the ghost a really simple white and added some soft grey vines in the background.

On each nail, I started by applying the vine images. I used two different images and alternated their placement so that each nail had a slightly different placement. Next, I applied my ghost decal (which I filled in using white polish and a dotting tool right on the head of the stamper) to my ring finger using a very thin layer of sticky base coat. Next, I applied the layered flowers design, starting with the orange fill and then following with the black outline.

Once I was happy with my design, I sealed everything in with a no smudge top coat and then finished with a matte top coat to bring down the shine and complete the vintage look. And voila!

Honestly, I'm even happier with how this turned out than I ever thought I would be. While the fact that it's stamped rather than hand painted gives it a different feel than the inspiration mani's, I really love what this brings to the table and I think it does exactly what I wanted it to to. And honestly, I'm just in love!
