HALLOWEEN NAIL ART | Night Sky Sheet Ghost Nails

by - October 10, 2024

I feel like this is definitely the year of sheet ghost designs for me - and I am 100% not mad about it. There are so many things that you can do with sheet ghosts, from cute and playful to really spooky and scary. I actually picked up the stamping plate I used for this design - Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-H-78 The Ghost - specifically with this design in mind and it came together so quickly and easily that I found myself wondering why it's taken me so long to get into layered stamping.

Because I wanted this design to have a night sky/vaguely galaxy sort of look, I grabbed for a magnetic polish that, in my experience, really gives that vibe. Whats Up Nails' Night Contrails is a rich blue magnetic polish with a teal to purple cat eye effect. To get the cat eye effect, I used the magnet at the sides of the nails to manipulate glow until I got my desired effect - you can check out the video over at @pblnails to see it in action. Honestly, photos really don't do justice to how gorgeous this shifts and moves in person.

For the stamping, I kept it SUPER simple. I started by applying my layered ghost images to the nails, starting with white polish and then adding the black outline. Next, I added the "Boo!" images. On the nails with ghosts, I applied a small version and on my pink and thumb I added the larger version. Next, I went in with the star images to really bring together the night sky look and fill in any sparse areas on the design.

Finally, I sealed everything in with a no smudge top coat and then finished with a generous layer of glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!
