SEPHORA SPRING SALE WISHLIST + Recommendations
It's that time again! I love Sephora Beauty Insider sale time, because it's pretty much the only time you're going to actually see a sale at Sephora. Otherwise, you'll only find things on sale when they're clearing out. Of course, this is also the time that all of us beauty junkies put together a wishlist of all of the things that we want to pick up during the sale - since the 15% off really helps to justify buying all the makeup. Right? RIGHT?
Anyway, I got a little sidetracked with what I was intending to post today, so I decided to do a little bit of wishlist shopping on the Sephora website and decided to post my wishlist. There are a couple of items in this wishlist that I technically have, but I will explain why I love them as they're listed.
Without further adieu, keep reading to take a look at my picks!
SEPHORA FAVORITES
I've loved every Sephora Favorites kit I've ever bought and there's definitely a few that I really want to get my hands on that just came out (and one that I think has been out a couple of months already.)
Admittedly, I'm still working my way through a lash stash that I got for Christmas 2013... but that doesn't matter, right? This kit includes: Josie Maran Argan Black Oil Mascara, Lancome Paris Hypnose Drama Mascara, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara, and Blinc Inc Amplified Mascara. There's a few in there that I already know I like and I'm into trying the other ones. I actually really, really like sample size mascaras because I'm trying to throw my mascaras out after 3 months anyway and I've never had a sample that didn't last that long. Broken down, the cost of each mascara in this kit is $6, so I'd say that's pretty good for 3 months work!
This is the one that I'm absolutely determined to get my hands on. With primers for face, eyes, lashes, hair, lips, and nails this has something for every part of your beauty routine. I already know that I love the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, but I haven't tried any of the others and I want to. Yes. Get in my cart, you little beauty. This set also includes the BITE Beauty Line & Define Primer, Formula X PRIME Base Coat, Living Proof Prime Style Extender, Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Eyeshadow Primer, and the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer. Done deal. It will be mine!
This set is a great price, to start with. At $22, this gives a great excuse to try some new products. I actually haven't tried any of the specific products in this set, which makes it extra covetable to me. This set includes the Ole Henriksen Grease Relief Cleansing Cloths, First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay, REN Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, and POWERMUD Dual Cleanse Treatment. YAS! Gimme.
Hourglass
I'm a wee bit obsessed with Hourglass lately, but these are definitely my picks for what I want to pick up in full size as well as what I would recommend you try out!
This shade is included in the Ambient Blush Palette and I completely love it. I'd say that this is definitely the blush in my collection that I've been reaching for the most lately. I feel like this particular shade would be flattering on pretty much everyone and gives a beautiful luminous flush to the cheeks. Gorgeous.
5. Hourglass Viel Mineral Primer *** RECOMMENDED
I picked up the small size of this to give it a try and I'm completely sold. It's spendy as all hell, I do admit, but I absolutely love what this does for my makeup. I feel like it really gives a great base to apply the product on top of and also significantly extends the wear of my makeup. This is going to be a staple for the summer, I predict, and I'm gonna need a backup on hand.
6. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer *** RECOMMENDED
BRAND NEW! As soon as I saw this, I wanted it in my collection. These bronzers come in two shades, one intended for light to medium skintones and one for medium to deeper skintones. And, I mean... Look at them. I feel like that's J.Lo skin in a compact. Gimme!
All About The Base
I've been all about skin lately, so I've really had my eye on various formulations of primer and tinted moisturizer. Here are my picks for what I really want to try out.
I've heard good things about this product and it seems like it would be right up my alley for summer. I'm actually finding my skin has been improving recently, which is awesome because it means that I can go a little lighter on the foundation this summer and keep it simple with a tinted moisturizer. Bring it, bareMinerals, let's see how we go.
These have been everywhere lately, as well, and it seems like every blogger and vlogger has recently attended a MUFE event where they were gifted some of these to try out. Of course, there's no MUFE events anywhere in my vicinty, but I have been convinced that this is something I want to try out. My biggest skin issue is texture, so I am dying for a primer that really smooths out all of my texture imperfections. I hope MUFE is up for the challenge.
The last 2 times I've been in Sephora, this has been completely sold out. Another product that is absolutely everywhere on the internet, I've heard really good things about this. I like the idea of a primer that's going to hit my skin with some moisture and extend the wear of my foundation at the same time. This is definitely a must try for me.
Other Stuff With No Clever Header
8 neutral eyeshadows, 2 gorgeous neutral blushes, and my favorite Park Avenue Princess bronzer all in one palette? It's really no wonder tarte has my heart. Oh god, I rhymed. Anyway, this palette looks beautiful and I want it in my life rather badly. Also, I'm starting to think that I'd like to be a tarte collector, because I really love their products, their packaging, and their general curation of palettes. Gimme!
I first heard of this product from Caroline Hirons, who is pretty much my skin care goddess, and I've been coveting it ever since. It's spendy, which is why I think the only way I could justify ordering it would be during the sale, but I've heard incredible things about it and feel convinced that it would get holy grail status. Come to me, Luna. Come to me. (NOTE: I won't be ordering this because it really is too spendy for me at the moment... but a girl can dream!)
I literally can't seem to do a wishlist without including Almond products from L'Occitane, can I? You know this is because I love them. I want to curl up with them at night and smell their delicious goodness and then slather myself in them forevermore. Ahem. Seriously, have you smelled these products yet? They smell like heavy. Better still, they're seriously good at what they do.
1. tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette
If you're into neutral matte shadows, this could really be the perfect palette for you. I don't feel like this is the kind of palette you're going to love if you're into a lot of drama, but if you like natural, matte eyeshadow looks for everyday this could be your best friend. I love this palette and I really do use it often. The shadows are great quality and very blendable. Check it out!
2. Tokyomilk Dark Femme Fatale Collection Lip Elixir in No.36 Salted Caramel
First I just have to say that the packaging of this lip balm kinda sucks. It can actually be really hard to get the lid off. That said, I would still repurchase this because it's just a gorgeous balm top to bottom. It feels incredible on the lips and is literally the best smelling balm I've ever smelled. Seriously. Smell it.
3. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Shocker! Of course this is a must have for me from Sephora. I use this pretty much every day, whether I'm using Dim Light to warm up and softly contour my face or I'm using Incandescent Light to give a glow to my cheekbones. I'm still working on figuring out what to do with Radiant Light on my skintone, but I have a feeling it'll get a lot of summer play this year.
4. Boscia Makeup-Break Up Cool Cleansing Oil
If you read this blog with any kind of regularity, you know that I love a good cleansing oil. This is actually one of my favorites. This literally breaks up every bit of makeup on your face with ease and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. I love this for taking off my makeup at the end of the day if I'm not ready for my full nighttime skincare routine, because I don't have to follow this with any thing immediately for my skin to feel comfortable and hydrated.
5. beautyblender blendercleanser SOLID
I've been using this to clean my brushes as well as my beautyblender and there is really nothing that gets them as clean as this does and with almost no work at all. My white goat hair brushes look like new and all of my brushes feel clean and conditioned after washing with this. I have a feeling this is going to be a frequent repurchase for me.
6. NEST Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum
I felt like I should pick a fragrance to keep my recommendations really rounded and this was the one that really jumped out at me. This fragrance is very feminine and sexy without feeling at all girly or sweet. It's just a beautiful scent and one that definitely feels like it was made for a woman. Give it a sniff next time you're in store!
Annnnd there you have it! 20 products from Sephora that I either want or would recommend to you... Or both! That was fun!
What're you picking up during the Spring Beauty Insider sale???
