I, like so many other people over the course of the last couple of years living in a pandemic, have recently gotten super into playing around in the world of fragrance. I've actually been meaning to feature more fragrance here on the blog but hadn't gotten around to it until a brand new Canadian fragrance house called FOOPE Fragrances reached out to me and asked if I'd like to try out their three brand spankin' new fragrances. Fall is my favorite season. Honestly, I start hoping for fall to come probably about halfway through August every year. I start thinking about cozy sweaters and comfy boots and vampy makeup looks. One thing that I've really realized, though, is that my favorite smells in the world are the ones that I related to fall. There's just something really comforting about the smells of fall that bring me a lot of joy, so I wanted to share a handful of products that give me all of those fall feelings.

When it comes to fragrance, I've been a bit of a junkie since childhood and my love for choosing a scent to wear in order to represent a mood has really grown as I've gotten older. Another thing that has really happened as I've gotten older is that I've developed a love for beautiful perfume bottles that are almost like art pieces or decor accessories. Hey guys! Fragrance can be a tricky thing and for most of the year, I like really rich, almost masculine scents with hints of sweetness, but when summer rolls around I definitely want everything to be really fresh and bright. This year, I've been trying out the So...? Fragrance Summer Escapes Body Mists* and it's bringing me back to when I was younger and I had a collection of easy to reach for body sprays in my collection that I wore pretty much every single day.

You guys, I'm super excited about this review! As soon as I saw that there was a new CLEAN fragrance coming out and it was called Ultimate Beach Day, I was 100% on board to try it. In case you didn't already know, CLEAN makes some of my favorite fragrances and I'm always up to try something new from them. I've always found their fragrances to be... well, clean. There's a crispness to the notes so they never feel overwhelming, but they're really well thought out in what they're trying to evoke. Since CLEAN Cashmere has been a staple for me over the cooler months, I was definitely hoping to replace it with something I'd love as much for summer!

Anyway, without further ado, let's talk about the CLEAN Ultimate Beach Day Eau De Toilette*.

My collection of fragrances is a little bit over the top, I must say, but I do have some favorites that I always go back to. One of those favorites is The Body Shop Red Musk, which is probably the most unique and polarizing scent that I own. The strongest notes are cinnamon and tobacco, and I really do think you either love it or hate it. I love it. Like, I really, really love it and am so excited for cold weather specifically because it means I can bust it out again. So when Black Musk came out - ages ago now, it feels like - I was anxious to get my nose all up in it. It didn't excite me as much as Red Musk, but I still thought it was gorgeous. Didn't buy it though. Literally every time I went into The Body Shop for months, I would beeline and give it a sniff but I always talked myself out of buying it. Until now.

Wanna know more? I'm not the best at describing scents in terms of notes, so my review will be more about my reaction and describing the scent in adjectives rather that nouns. Make sense? Anyway, keep reading for more!

When I was growing up,  most of my mom's makeup, skin care, and fragrance was from Avon. I think she liked the ease of being able to go through the catalogue each month and pick out the things that she wanted. I remember so clearly that she always wore Night Magic from Avon as her perfume and that smell will pretty much forever remind me of my mom in the 80s and early 90s. Recently, Avon released a new fragrance in partnership with Sofia Vergara, who is pretty much goals as far as I'm concerned. Gorgeous, confident, funny as all get out? Yup, I absolutely adore her, so I was more than happy to get a chance to try out the So Very Sophia Eau De Parfum* from Avon.

I don't actually talk all that often about fragrances here on the blog and I'd like to start doing more of that in the future. I've obviously talked about Demeter quite a bit, having been lucky enough to get to test out their products, but aside from that and the occasional Favorites mention I haven't really gotten into the fragrances that I love to wear. I choose what scent I wear on any given day based on 2 criteria. The first is seasonal,  because I definitely associate certain scents with certain times of year and I love to change my perfumes up as much as I love the change my makeup up. The second is much more important, though, and that's my mood. I actually choose a lot of things very specifically based on my mood. Makeup, fashion, and fragrance are all very much chosen based on how I feel on any given day and what I want to put out there accordingly. I'd love to hear if you're like that as well!

I don't understand this idea that kids hate bath time that pop culture keeps trying to insist to me. I loved bath time! However... It's with great affection for my younger self that I tell you I was kinda a weird kid. Most of my strongest memories from when I was a kid aren't big events or anything like that, they're rooted in the make believe I played and all the stories that I made up. I was constantly in a state of storytelling and imagination that I think shaped the person I am as an adult. When I was little, bathtime was as much about imagination as it was about getting myself clean - perhaps even moreso. Bubbles became hats or beards or something that spoke to being like an adult woman from the movies, sinking down into a lushly filled tub while contemplating things that at the time I couldn't even understand. I remember when I was first allowed to run my own baths, climbing into the water while it was still running and holding my feet up as straight as I could and trying to let the water cover my toes. Somehow a deep bath filled with bubbles felt like I was growing up - even if it smelled like fruity cotton candy.  

Recently, I had the opportunity to recapture the feeling of being that weird little bathtime adventurer with Demeter Fragrance Library's Mr. Bubble Cologne Spray*, and it brought me right back to that happy place.

It's that time again! I love Sephora Beauty Insider sale time, because it's pretty much the only time you're going to actually see a sale at Sephora. Otherwise, you'll only find things on sale when they're clearing out. Of course, this is also the time that all of us beauty junkies put together a wishlist of all of the things that we want to pick up during the sale - since the 15% off really helps to justify buying all the makeup. Right? RIGHT? 

Anyway, I got a little sidetracked with what I was intending to post today, so I decided to do a little bit of wishlist shopping on the Sephora website and decided to post my wishlist.
