So, you guys know that I lovelovelove VICHY skin care products. I find that my skin really loves them and I always like how my skin looks and feels while I'm using them. Because of my love for the brand, it'll be no surprise to anyone that I pretty much lost it when I first saw the display of the new VICHY Teint Idéel makeup products at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. I went mad with swatching power and instantly wanted to try everything. Luckily, I got the chance to try almost all of the products through PR and I've been testing them consistently to get a solid opinion on all of them. The first one I wanted to talk about is the VICHY Teint Idéal Illuminating Powder Foundation* and - SPOILERS! - I'm obsessed with it.

With its light and velvety powdered texture, capable of unifying skin tone without overweighting it, this formula has been clinically proven to improve skin quality for 90% of women across all skin types and reduce imperfections for 60% of women.

The powder is available in 3 shades - Light, Medium, and Tan. I got the shade 1 Light, which I find works really beautifully with my skin tone. I'd say that it has a fairly neutral base and I don't think it runs too yellow or too pink but really sits somewhere in the middle.

Personally, I don't generally tend to do only a powder foundation routine. Instead, I tend to use a powder foundation over a liquid foundation or BB cream, but I do think that this is worth trying if you are a powder foundation fan. I have used this on its own for testing purposes and I loved the natural look it gave to the skin, even but as though I wasn't wearing anything at all. The thing that I love about this powder is that it works the way I want a powder foundation to in setting my foundation and giving me some added coverage, but this one doesn't look like a powder on the skin. I find the finish to be really skin like with a really healthy glow to the skin that doesn't emphasize or cause any dryness to my skin. When the weather gets colder and my skin inevitably gets drier, I think I'll be even more thankful for this finish.

Overall, I think this might be my favorite product in the entire Teint Idéal range because it really ticks all the boxes for me. I've tried this over both the liquid and cream foundations from this line (look for the reviews of those to come!) as well as over a BB cream and alone, and I've loved it in every application I've done. Generally as the weather gets colder and my skin inevitably gets drier, I have to skip powder or I just end up looking really parched and dry, but I have a feeling that my skin will continue loving this powder all winter long!
