MANI MONDAY: Pink Gradient Nail Art With Stamping
Hey guys! February continues with our #CBBxManiMonday theme of pink & red nails. This week I picked up several new polishes that Sinful Colors released and since a few of them worked with this theme (sort of) I decided to take some inspiration from the mani Jayne did last week using new OPI releases in a gradient. Being me, of course, I had to add a little bit of holo top coat and some stamping, but I'm really, really happy with how this mani turned out.
It had been a while since I'd done a gradient and this reminded me just how much I really enjoy them. Because I don't personally like doing a white base with a gradient if I don't have to, I usually start with a base of the lightest shade in my gradient. For this one, I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Spring Fling, which is a reeeeeally pale lavender cream shade. For the gradient, I used Spring Fling as well as Violet Riot, which is a really cool midtoned pinky orchid, and Raisin The Roof, which is a deep burgundy cream shade. It took about four passes with the makeup sponge to get full opacity and a really nice blend. I tend to always follow a gradient with some sort of holographic top coat and this was no exception. I used KBShimmer Prism Break, which is a really fine holo top coat and probably my personal favorite.
I knew I wanted to add stamping and that I wanted it to be fairly graphic in nature. Ultimately, I decided to use this image from the XY-Merry Christmas 02 stamping plate stamped with Born Pretty Store White Stamping Polish. I really love how this image really sort of made it look like I'd used more colours in the gradient than I did by really delineating the shades.
I finished with a coat of Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat and voila!

I'm so excited about how this mani turned out. I love that these three shades worked so beautifully together - and that they're equally pigmented enough to create a really beautiful gradient. I feel like Sinful Colors polishes are really underrated and though these three are pretty basic créme shades, they're also just really beautiful.
