THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.

For today's mani, I was very much in the mood for something adorable. While I'm not generally much of a pink and adorable kind of girl, there's something about Valentine's Day that just makes me go all in, so I grabbed a super bright pink polish and a bubbly hearts stamping image and I just went for it!

THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.

I am, admittedly, not  much of a pink girl in general, but then Valentine's Day rolls around and my brain immediately goes straight into full on theme mode and suddenly I want to throw pink and hearts and cuteness at my nails like the girliest girl. For this mani, I really sort of went all in with two different shades of pink and what might be the most unabashed hearts stamping image in my collection - because why not, right?

I always get excited about new stamping plate releases from Whats Up Nails, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on the 4 new plates that launched earlier this month. Of course, being in Canada it took a minute for them to get to me, but as soon as they did I tore right into using them and the first mani I knew I had to do as soon as I first saw the B075 Somewhere In Bee-tween Stamping Plate* was this one featuring this stunning sunflower image. It just had to happen.

One of the things I did while I was putting together ideas for this year's Halloween nail art was to go back and look at designs I'd done previously. I didn't want to do a straight up recreation of any of them, but I did like the idea of doing some twists on some of my favorites. One of my absolute favorites from last year was my Spooky Grunge Voodoo Doll mani that I did and I definitely felt like I could easily take the spirit of that one and do something a little darker and more gritty with it this year. In the end... I feel pretty confident that I was able to do just that.

When I sat down to start putting together ideas for this year's marathon of Halloween Nail Art, today's mani was the first design idea that I ended up writing down and I spent weeks anxious to get it onto my nails. (Why, yes, even though I was fully ready to start doing Halloween mani's on August 1, I did force myself to wait until September to get started...) I literally pretty much knew exactly what this was going to look like on my nails as soon as I thought of it and the final product is pretty much exactly what I had pictured down to the colors I used for my reverse stamping. That is definitely not always the case, but for this one I'm really, really glad that I was able to bring what I pictured to life.

A few months ago, now, I was filling up my cart over at Harlow & Co and got a very, very random urge to try out some water decals. I've used water decals a few times in the past and I think they're a really great way to easily and quickly create some intricate nail art designs, but personally they just aren't something I reach for using all that often so this was a little random but I went with it. I decided to pick up the sheet I used for this mani because I just loved the colors and overall vibe of the really distinctly fall leaning designs on it and now the time has finally arrived to use it!

So here's a little story... Last week I popped into Superstore first thing in the morning to pick up a couple of grocery things before work and I ended up perusing the beauty department and as I began to make my way towards the back of the store to go in the direction of what I was actually there for, I saw one of those free standing displays full of Sinful Colors polishes. In my experience, when those displays pop up is when we here in Canada are about to get something new and (hopefully) good from Sinful and I definitely, definitely was not disappointed on this front. I will admit I'm not actually sure what this collection is called because I can barely find anything out there about it - which is part of why I wanted to share these swatches because this is SUCH A STUNNING COLLECTION and needs to have attention.

I have to say I'm extra excited to share today's nail art design with you because... honestly, it was a bit of a journey to get to it. I had an idea to use this particular stamping image with a certain base... and it didn't look right. So then I tried it with a very similar base to the first one but in a different finish and... hated it. I almost gave up, but then I showed them to my best friend, who is an incredible artist, and she was pretty much immediately able to point out exactly what it was that wasn't working from a design perspective. I ended up leaving it for a few weeks and I wasn't sure that I would try again, but then a lightbulb hit and I decided to give it one more go and pretty much immediately fell in love with it!

With today's mani, something pretty rare happened to bring it all together. Most often, I sit down with a simple mani in mind and then my goblin brain is like "MORE MORE MORE", but with this one I actually had a much more involved idea in mind but once I got to the point just before I ended up top coating this one, I realized that it was exactly where I wanted to leave it. There was just... something about it that I loved immediately - and I wanted to share it here on the blog because I feel like this type of mani could very easily be recreated regardless of your experience with nail art and since it was those types of manis that drew me into nail art because I felt confident I could do them, I like to share ideas and maybe inspire others to believe they can as well.

I really, really wanted to do gingerbread nails again last year after how much I loved the ones I did last year, but I really wanted to do a design that would stand completely apart from that one also - so I decided to go super cute. I mean... obviously gingerbread men are super cute to begin with, but the Maniology Kawaii Christmas plates take that cuteness to a whole other level, I'd say, and I just fully went all in with it. I mean... I feel like you really sort of have to!

Today's mani is a birthday collaboration mani for Sky of skys.nails on Instagram - and it's a little bit of birthday inception for this one because I chose this mani, which was inspired by another artist for their birthday. I've actually been wanting to try out one of these blobby abstract designs for a while now, but like so many other things I've never tried before I had a bit of an intimidation block that this luckily helped me get past somewhat. Also, I did put a little bit of my own spin on it, as I tend to always do when I'm working from another artist as inspiration.

Pretty much from the moment I saw the Nicole Diary stamping plate that I used for today's mani, I knew that I was going to do some version of this. It went through a few different iterations in my mind before I settled on this one, but I think it was pretty much always going to look something like this. That's definitely one thing I'm really loving as I've settled more and more into my own style when it comes to nail art - ideas like this come together pretty fully formed in my head without having to do as much trial and error as I did when I was first starting out.

When I sit down to think about a whole bunch of mani's in one theme, like Halloween, I try to be mindful of a diversity of vibes, if you will. By which I mean, I don't want to live too firmly in one mood or style if I'm going to be creating a bunch of different mani's in the same theme. With Halloween, I think there are a lot of different directions that it makes sense to go, even if the knee jerk is to keep it creepy and spooky. For today's mani, I'm leaning pretty heavily into cuteness with this straight up kitty and pumpkin design! Also, here in Canada, today is Thanksgiving, so I figured this would be a good way to acknowledge that particular holiday without stepping outside of my every day is Halloween plans - two birds stoned and all that.

I'm a member of a Sinful Colors fan group on Facebook and it has taught me a few things. The first thing is that fans of Sinful Colors will go to great lengths to complete their collections and get their hands on limited edition or hard to find shades. The second is that here in Canada we don't get even a fraction of the cool stuff that the brand releases. I'm a big fan of Sinful Colors and I think they put out some of the most interesting and unique collections in the drugstore, but as a Canadian I definitely get a little bummed when we don't get the new, exciting releases. That said, the Sinful Colors Essenchills Collection, which is a scented collection that was released in the states earlier this year, has finally come to Canada and I could not resist tracking down every shade and swatching them here for you!

Continuing on with an entire week dedicated to cactus themed nails, I kept this one nice and soft and generally pretty simple. This was sort of loosely inspired by this design from Sveta Sanders, though I feel like I made it my own with a different technique and vibe overall. I LOVE that mani though - honestly, who doesn't love pretty much all of her work? ANYWAY. As I said, I wanted to keep this one nice and soft with one of my absolute favorite color pairings - purple and green.

Hey guys! I have to admit, I've gotten to the point in this marathon of nail art where I'm running out of things to say and ways to talk about the mani's that I'm doing. There is a wall and I am definitely hitting it at this point, but I'm so close to the finish line and I'm so, so excited to have this massive collection of 2020 holiday nail art to look back on. I mean... honestly, the driving force behind this project for me is the being locked down at home and the sadness about not getting to see my family for Christmas, but I think I'll still look back on it fondly.

Anyway, keep reading to take a look at how I put together this simple stamped mani!

This has been an insane undertaking, this whole 25 days in a row of Christmas nail art designs that I've been doing thing, and it was made a little bit more insane for the fact that I've really wanted every design I've done to be unique and special and something I'm proud of - with some of the final results being more successful in that regard that others. Anyway, I tell you this because this is actually the second holly berries design that I did and the other one is just never going to get shared because I wasn't overall happy with it and I'm just in love with this one.

So, without further ado, keep reading for more!

I have to admit, I've always, always wanted to do gingerbread man nail art for the holidays. I just think it's such a cute design and gingerbread men always make me think of the holiday season. Finally, this year I ordered the Uberchic Beauty Holiday Spirit Stamping Plate, which I've wanted for literally years, and was able to get this design onto my nails using drugstore polishes that I wouldn't have necessarily thought of off the top of my head!

Happy March! For our #CBBxManiMonday theme for the next two weeks, we obviously had to go with green, and since there isn't a holiday theme that I don't love to hurl myself at, I'll be tackling St Patricks Day Nail Art with vigor. I have to say, I'm kind of over the moon thrilled with how this one turned out and I've already gotten compliments on it!

Hey guys! I'm really excited to do this review because I feel like Sinful Colors is really one of those brands that's underrated in the drugstore. When it comes to brands releasing interesting formulas and finishes in the mainstream nail polish game, I feel like Sinful Colors tends to really stand above the others in its category - even though Canada does definitely get left out when it comes to some of the more exciting collections that the brand releases. Luckily, we weren't left out of the release of the new Naughty Nudes collection, which is exclusively available at Walmart, and I was able to get my hands on 7 of the 9 shades and I really wanted to share my thoughts along with swatches of this collection because it's super unique and exciting to me!
