CHRISTMAS NAIL ART: Golden Evergreen Christmas Tree Nails

by - December 14, 2022

THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.

I knew that for this holiday season I would be figuring out a way to use this single image from the Pueen 115 Stamping Plate to create a whole mani and I knew that it wouldn't just be using the full cover image on all of my fingers. Of course, I wasn't entirely sure about anything else beyond that, but I rolled with it anyway. I tend to like to challenge myself and I also tend to feel like I need to bring something creative in hopes of maybe offering some creative inspiration on different ways to use full cover stamping images.

So I knew I wanted to use Pueen's Golden Delicious stamping polish for this mani because it gives that really pretty old gold kind of vibe, but it actually took a lot of digging to figure out what I was going to pair it with. In the end, I went with Enchanted Woodland from Cadillacquer, which is an absolutely stunning deep green that's quite neutral with maybe just a hint of warm leaning, and is packed with ultrachrome gold flakies and feels sort of like a perfect fit with that stamping polish.

To start, I applied two coats of Enchanted Woodland to all of my nails.

Now came the tricky part - figuring out how I was going to break up this full cover imagine. Initially I was actually planning on applying it whole to my two middle fingers and then just applying a single one on the three outer fingers, but in the end I decided that I wanted to only do the once accent nail with the full image and then apply one tree each on the rest of my fingers. For the middle finger, I kept it in the center towards the base of the nail and on the others I placed it towards the tip of the nail and angled slightly towards the center of my hand.

Once I was happy with the design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then followed with a glossy top coat for shine and volume. And voila!

Images like this one are, in my opinion, some of the most adaptable and I'll give some examples of things I considered for this image specifically. Obviously I could have applied a single tree to each nail, which I think would have been an interesting sort of minimalist vibe. I could have done all kinds of different reverse stamped designs with different fill colors and techniques. And finally, it would have been really easy to isolate any chunks of this design by removing the rest, for example removing half of the image at a diagonal and placing that at the corners of the nails. All of this is to say that you really have a lot of freedom to play when it comes to images like this, so I definitely recommend experimenting.
