Today's mani is another recreation of one of my personal favorite designs that I did last year - but this time around I went with a much more traditionally Christmas color story and I think it might have turned out even better than the first time. Even though I tend to convince myself that reverse stamping is going to be complicated and take a lot time, it almost never does. That said, this mani also utilized some layered stamping, which I'm still getting the hang of if I'm being honest, and that really does make the whole process go a lot more smoothly.

THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUEEN COSMETICS.

I knew that for this holiday season I would be figuring out a way to use this single image from the Pueen 115 Stamping Plate to create a whole mani and I knew that it wouldn't just be using the full cover image on all of my fingers. Of course, I wasn't entirely sure about anything else beyond that, but I rolled with it anyway. I tend to like to challenge myself and I also tend to feel like I need to bring something creative in hopes of maybe offering some creative inspiration on different ways to use full cover stamping images.

I love nail polish. Like... talk about an obvious statement, but what I mean when I say that is really that I love all of the beautiful formulas and finishes that nail polish makers create and I really, really love to let them guide my own creativity whenever possible to put together nail art designs that do them justice. Now, I don't know if I always exactly succeed in that, but it's generally the goal. Today's nail art design is actually 100% inspired by the base polish that I used and I am honestly kind of obsessed with it. It's ultimately quite a simple mani, but I think there's an interesting intricacy to it that turned out really cool.

I must admit that there are definitely times when I completely mess up a mani and ultimately decide not to post it here on the blog. Sometimes I end up trying again and other times I delete all of the photos and video and pretend it never happened. In this case, it is obviously the former. I'll detail a little bit why the first mani didn't work out while I tell you how I did it, but I think it is important to be honest - only seeing the final product of people's work, I think, can be a little bit discouraging when no one talks about the fails and the retries and whatnot.

Winter finally hit here in Winnipeg over the winter - which probably sounds crazy to a lot of people not used to this particular climate, but trust me... The years that the first snow of the year isn't in October are fewer than one might hope. But over the course of 4 days, we've basically gone from a nice, warm, comfy fall into full on winter, so it's officially time for cozy. (I mean, I've been fully into my cozy since the beginning of September, but now it's justified. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is that it leads into the design of this mani - this smoky blue base with tonal stamping and some graphic hygge vibes. I dunno... feels cozy and wintery to me!

Generally I don't pick up a lot of thermal polishes because it can be tricky to use them in nail art - and generally, I am someone who always adds nail art on top of my polish. That being said, ever since Cadillacquer released Eivor last fall, I've had my eye on it and NailStuff.ca was kind enough to gift it to me recently and it absolutely lived up to what I hoped for it. But... I had absolutely no idea how I was going to use it for nail art until I had it on my nails I had a downright lightbulb... Succulents! And it seemed like the perfect time, with this being our last week of May Flowers themed #CBBxManiMonday... even though hens and chicks aren't technically flowers, they sort of look like it!

I feel like March is doing very, very strange things to my brain this year. I mean, I suspect that it's almost certainly a combination of it being a officially a year into our pandemic altered reality along with the fact that my brain is not good at seasons changing and it's something that causes varying levels of struggle every time it happens. Anyway, when it comes to nail art, I'm sort of all over the place, but for some reason I'm really sort of just grabbing onto these sort of art deco-esque designs and just sort of running with them. For this week's green themed #CBBxManiMonday, I grabbed for a favorite base polish of mine and just went for what my brain wanted.

This has been an insane undertaking, this whole 25 days in a row of Christmas nail art designs that I've been doing thing, and it was made a little bit more insane for the fact that I've really wanted every design I've done to be unique and special and something I'm proud of - with some of the final results being more successful in that regard that others. Anyway, I tell you this because this is actually the second holly berries design that I did and the other one is just never going to get shared because I wasn't overall happy with it and I'm just in love with this one.

So, without further ado, keep reading for more!

More and more this year, when I sit down to put together ideas for holiday themed nail art, I'm finding that I've settled a lot more into my own personal style and I think today's 12 Nails Of Christmas offering is very much that. As soon as I looked at this stamping image, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it and I went through several different colour pairings in my head before I settled on green. Because... me? I love green polish and the holidays are usually the perfect time to reach for them.

Anyway, keep reading to take a closer look and see how I put this mani together!

I must admit, so many of the ideas that I have for Christmas nails this year are inspired by other nail artists and today's mani is definitely one of those. This mani from Delishious Nails has been one that I've been completely in love with from the first time I saw it and it very, very much inspired the polishes and design that I chose for this mani. I skipped adding the reindeer to my mani specifically because I loved this little peek-a-boo through the snowy layered evergreens to this glowing, flakie, glittery base, but I definitely have to give a nod to the mani that inspired this one because I just absolutely love it.

Happy Friday, everyone! Can you believe we're already ¾ of the way through 12 Nails Of Halloween? I can't! The world is in a mess and my 2020 burnout is strong at this point, but time seems to be downright hurdling. Anyway, for today's mani, I feel like I somehow managed to keep it simple but also... like, a lot at the same time.

Let's just proceed, shall we?

With how in love I am with the brand spankin' new NailStuff.ca Exclusive Cadillacquer Duo that I shared my swatches of the other day, I obviously had to create some nail art using them. I immediately knew pretty much exactly what I wanted to do with the shade Enchanted Forest*, which is distinctly my favorite of the two shades because I'm obviously a fiend for green nail polishes and this one has pretty much jumped to the top of my favorites list. I wanted to stick with a nail art vibe that paired well with the name, so I did this diagonal leaf design that I think is just perfect for fall.

When I sat down to put together nail art featuring the polishes from the new NailStuff.ca Exclusive Cadillacquer Duo*, I really wanted to create designs that would reference the names and inspiration behind each of the polishes - but how does one interpret Mystic Fog in nail art form? I actually thought about that for a while before it hit me and I have to say... I'm kind of in love with what I ended up with for this mani. This base polish is just stunning and really evokes the intention, I think, and I wanted to play to that rather than against it but not be too on the nose, you know? So this look ended up being sort of an abstract interpretation, but I think it gets there.

Hey guys! I'm SO super excited for today's post because I've been keeping these two polishes secret for a few weeks now and I finally get to share them. If you read this blog, you know that I love working with NailStuff.ca and I absolutely love the brands that they carry for us Canadian polish lovers. One of the brands that has been an absolute favorite of mine has been Cadillacquer, so when I found out that they were doing an exclusive duo together, I couldn't wait to see it. I might also have gotten a little clue that the polishes were going to be right up my alley, so I couldn't wait to see them, and as soon as I opened the boxes I fell completely in love (and within minutes had applied one of them to my thumb nail to test it out.

Happy Monday, all! This weekend was full enough that I ended up passing out for a nap that was akin to a coma by yesterday afternoon, so when I woke up and remembered I still had to do my nails for Mani Monday, I knew that I didn't have a lot in me. It was actually kind of serendipitous, though, because I've been wanting to share swatches of Cadillacquer's Forest* nail polish for a while now and it fits absolutely perfectly into this month's Blue & Green #CBBxManiMonday theme - and is a polish I'm more than happy to wear through St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!

Happy Saturday! I've decided that after over five years of almost never posting on the weekends, I wanted to add a new little segment here to feature some gorgeous nail polish swatches - new, new-to-me and maybe some old favorites from my collection as well! For this first one, I wanted to show you guys this absolutely stunning polish from Cadillacquer - Summer Rain*! This is actually the very first polish I've ever tried from Cadillacquer and... hooooo! I love it.
