Once upon a time, I thought all makeup wipes were created equal. Now that I'm pretty hardcore about skin care and really take the time to notice the differences, I definitely know that this isn't true. Generally, when I use a makeup wipe, it's either the first step in my cleansing routine or (admittedly) if I'm already in bed and I'm too lazy for a full cleanse but know that if I sleep in my makeup I'll regret it in three days when my skin rebels. In both of those instances, but particularly the second, I want something that's going to work well without leaving my skin tight or irritated. 

Recently, I've had the opportunity to test out the new VICHY Pureté Thermale Micellar Cleansing Wipes*, and because I really love VICHY products over all I had high hopes that I was really going to love them. Keep reading for more!

As you can see on the package, these promise to cleanse and remove waterproof makeup while soothing the skin. Sounds pretty good to me. They promise to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and claim to be hypoallergenic. For me, one of the most important things with wipes is the texture and I have to say that these have one of the softest, most cushiony textures of any cleansing wipe I've ever used. Some wipes can be really abrasive and uncomfortable, but these just glide over the skin and feel really, really lovely.

When it comes to actually removing my makeup, you can see from the (fairly gross, but necessary) picture above that it does a pretty damn good job, particularly in breaking up my stubborn eye makeup. My eyes can be pretty sensitive when it comes to products I use to take my makeup off, but I didn't have any irritation when I used these at all. Overall, I have to say that I think this strike the perfect balance of being both effective and really gentle.

Like I said above, I think wipes should generally be used as a first step in your cleansing routine because it does leave residue behind on the skin, but I definitely think that these are wipes that I won't mind using occasionally when laziness really strikes. In fact, I think these may have bumped my previous favorite wipes and these are the ones that I'll keep on hand in the future.
