FAVORITES: February 2018

by - March 13, 2018

While January felt like the longest month ever, I feel like February passed in a bit of a blink, so I'm admittedly a little late on putting together my favorites this month, whoops! It was also a month that was pretty busy for me and I actually pretty consistently found myself reaching for a very small number of products to get the job done so this favorites post isn't quite so packed with products. Still, you can count on the fact that everything mentioned here is something that I really, really love.

I'll stop rambling and get onto the favorites, so keep reading!

New Wet N Wild!
Honestly, when I sat down to think about what my February favorites would be, it was pretty much a no brainer that I was going to be mentioning some of the new products from Wet N Wild that I got my hands on last month. I honestly couldn't choose a favorite between the Color Icon Not A Basic Peach, Rosé In The Air, and Nude Awakening palettes... so I didn't. Each of these palettes very much serves a different purpose for me, but the quality and versatility of all of them is just absolutely top notch. Also, the Megaglo Highligher in Blossom Glow is basically the only highlighter I've reached for since I bought it. It's so bright and gorgeous and glowy and perfect and I think every pale girl is going to want to have this in her collection. I think it's actually been quite a while since drugstore releases have excited me anywhere near as much as these ones!

Nails Nails Nails!
I have to admit, I've been hoarding the essie Shine Of The Times top coat for ages and I hardly ever reach for it, but this month as I was sitting there trying to think of what to do with my nails, this vision came to my mind and I basically had no choice but to reach for it. And then when I loved the mani I created, I had to reach for it again. If you want to check out those two nail art looks, check out this Mani Monday post from a couple of weeks ago. It's really no wonder that this long discontinued polish basically has cult status at this point... it's just absolutely incredible! When it comes to nail care, I definitely found myself reaching for the Avon Skin So Soft Winter Lavender Hand Cream a lot in February. When I first reviewed it, I actually wasn't all that in love with it, but having it on hand I found myself reaching for it a lot when I was just hanging out around the house and I kind of fell in love with it. The scent is soft and it can be a little bit greasy at first, but I actually really like to use this to massage my hands when I'm watching a movie or something because it feels amazing and my skin feels really good afterwards.

(Oops, grabbed the wrong bottle of body lotion when I took this pic...
Pretend this is the 10% AHA rather than the 2% BHA!)

Pampering My Winter Skin!
I feel like, particularly this year, I've finally gotten a handle on how to best manage my winter skin and these three products really take care of three of the most important parts of that for me. First, I obviously fell a little bit in love with the Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse, which helps me to get and keep my skin clean without any issues of stripping or damaging my moisture barrier. I have to be extra careful in the winter because my skin can definitely tend to skew towards dry and cleansers can really make that exponentially worse. Next is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, which I use when I'm at home to protect my lips from drying out in the forced heat. For me, worse for my lips than the dry air outside in the dry air inside during the winter, and I have to be pretty careful to keep my lips hydrated when I'm around the house and I reached for this lip mask consistently to maintain hydration in my lips, and it did a smashing job. Finally, I feel like the Paula's Choice  RESIST Skin Revealing Body Lotion 10% AHA is possibly my favorite winter body lotion ever. The reason for this is because I feel like it's giving me a twofer. It is adding some hydration to my skin, but it's also helping to exfoliate the skin so I don't have to worry about dry, flaky, itchy winter skin. It's been a bit of a life saver, to be honest, and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who deals with those issues in the winter.

So there you have it... A little late, a little brief, but definitely wholehearted February Favorites!
