2018 BEAUTY FAVORITES: Hair, Body & Fragrance Top 10

by - January 02, 2019

Hey guys! It's that time again - yearly favorites! You may have noticed that I didn't actually do Monthly Favorites posts in 2018, which was really because I was finding it difficult to keep choosing a selection of favorites every month that would be different from the last. I'd love it if you'd let me know if you'd like me to go back to Monthly Favorites, because I'd be happy to do it, I think I just might alter the way that I do it a little bit. Anyway, since I didn't have those monthly posts to reference, I really had to look back through the blog, through my social media and just through my memory to really figure out what the products were that shone brightest in the past year, and every single product on this list is absolutely one that I would recommend.

Keep reading to take a look at my Top 10 Hair, Body & Fragrance Products of 2018!

Obviously, there is a subjective aspect to favorites and a lot of why these products stand out so much to me is personal preference, but above and beyond that I really feel like each and every one of these products is high quality, effective, and just plain good. Every single thing on this list is something that I would throw 100% support behind and recommend to people whose needs and tastes fall in line with my own.

Hair Favorites
MOROCCANOIL Treatment Light
I actually initially got this from my hairdresser after raving about how much I loved the scent of it in her chair several times, but when I brought it home I really found that it was exactly what I needed in a hair oil. Because this is the Light formula, it doesn't weigh down my fine hair or make it look or feel greasy. When I apply this to slightly damp hair, this gives me both that scent I love, but also a boost that makes my hair look and feel really smooth and soft. If you find a lot of hair oils to be too heavy for you, I highly recommend taking a look at this one.

OGX Refresh & Full Biotin & Collagen Dry Shampoo
Admittedly, I find more duds than winners when it comes to trying out new dry shampoo, but after picking this up on a whim it proved to be exactly what I was looking for. It has just the right texture to leave my hair looking and feeling fresh without overwhelming it or casting really white on me. I particularly like this for third day hair that I'm going to pull up into a messy bun, because it takes down the oil and adds some texture and volume that makes the messy part of the bun look intentional rather than sloppy.

Live Clean Exotic Silk Keratin Oil Shampoo & Conditioner*
I don't know how I slept on this pair for so long, because it has become my absolute favorite since I first tried it. I'm a long time fan of Live Clean shower products, so I don't know how this didn't get its shot before this, but the way it leaves my hair looking and feeling soft, smooth and shiny just blows me away every single time. I honestly feel like I'm not doing it justice, because I literally can't find the words to rave about these products enough.

Body Favorites
SkinCeuticals Neck, Chest & Hand Repair
I had actually planned on reviewing this product ages ago and somehow never got around to it, but when I sat down to make this post I knew that I had to review it. I've been using this on and off for months on my neck and decolletage area and have been really, really impressed with the visible difference I see in the look and feel of those areas when I use it. Particularly on my upper chest, I tend to get some texture and discoloration there (because I'm a side sleeper with boobs who isn't as intense about SPF on the chest as on the face...) and I find that this really does make a difference in that area. It's not a moisturizer, it's a treatment, and it freakin' works.

Live Clean Gingerbread Latte Moisturizing Hand Soap*
There was no way that this year's favorites could go by without my absolute favorite product of the last quarter. I don't know if you can still get this one anywhere - it's been sold out everywhere around here for weeks - but if you can, STOCK UP! I love the Live Clean Hand Soap formula, but this scent has just taken over for me and I want to use it all year long, it's that lovely - and I don't even usually like gingerbread scents!

Rodial Stem Cell Hand Cream
This was a pretty big surprise for me, because I really did think that it was just going to be a standard hand cream that would get the job done but not really wow me. That's basically how I feel about most hand creams. However, the thing that I love about this one is how long lasting the hydration is without it being heavy and greasy. I can use this as my intense night time hand cream, but I can also slap it on during the day and still go about my business. It's a little bit of a spend for a hand cream, but I really, really love it.

NIVEA Care Intensive Nourishment Non-Greasy Cream*
It's really no surprise to me that a NIVEA product completely got it done for me - they're one of those go to affordable brands that I've been using for years, particularly for my lips and hands. However, this cream really knocked it out of the park for me for very much the same reasons as the last product. It balances really intense hydration without a heavy, greasy formula and I was able to use it through the warmer months comfortably and also move into these colder, drier months as well. Not gonna lie, that's basically unheard of for me. I love this stuff and I know it's going to be a staple for me, alongside a couple of other NIVEA go to's.

Fragrance Favorites
Maison Jacynthe Vingt-Deux Eau De Parfum*
I discovered this in the later months of 2017 and it's a fragrance that I've continued to reach for throughout 2018. Though it's definitely more of a fall fragrance for me, I also found myself reaching for it at night when I wanted something a little bit... something. It's hard to describe this scent because it's unlike anything I've ever tried before. It's rich and sexy in a way that, to me, feels completely genderless because it would be sexy, confident and unique on either a man or a woman, in my opinion. You really have to smell this!

CLEAN Cashmere Eau De Parfum*
There is one fragrance in my collection that gets reached for more often than any of the others and it's absolutely CLEAN Cashmere. This is by far the most beautiful, easy to wear, comforting fragrance that I own. It's just... soft, but rich, exactly like its namesake. I honestly don't know how anyone could not love the smell of it, even just peripherally if not a scent that they would prefer to wear. It's just lovely and I suspect I will continue wearing this for years to come.

So there you have, the Hair, Body & Fragrance products that stood out above all of the rest for me this year. There were obviously a lot of other products that I enjoyed this year, but I actually really didn't have any trouble at all widdling down the ones that really got it done for me this year.

Keep an eye out for more favorites to come, with Top 10s for Makeup, Skin Care, and Nails still to come!
