Prairie Beauty

I've gotta tell you guys... This month I really decided that I want to work on getting through a lot of products in my collection because I've been getting a little bit overwhelmed with how much stuff I have hanging around. As you've seen from the declutter posts that I've done so far, I've been cleaning out, but I've also been trying to use things up. So far so good, I think, since this month's empties is possibly the biggest I've ever done. I've got a little of everything in this empties post and I think most of them I've got solid thoughts on.

Keep reading to take a look at what I managed to use up this month!

Honestly, I feel like January was a month of new discoveries in my makeup collection. Between gifts from Christmas, shopping trips using gift cards, and all of the new releases happening in the makeup world, I was a little overcome with new things in the first weeks of 2016. Surprisingly, I also rediscovered a few long time favorites that had been passed up - and one that I had completely forgotten existed until I saw it in the drugstore and picked it up on a whim. I feel like this was a good month for me when it came to beauty. My skin is looking better than it has in all my adult life and, in turn, my makeup is applying a hell of a lot more smoothly. I'm not bragging, I swear, but it's been a good month! Surprisingly, thought, choosing my favorites this month has been a breeze.

Keep reading for a closer look at the products that rose above the rest in January!

My collection of makeup brushes is admittedly ridiculous, so when it comes time to give a deep clean to my collection it can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Honestly, I tend to grab the 10 or so brushes that I use every single day and clean them, leaving the rest spot cleaned and determinedly ignored. Anyone else? Anyway, I've been wanting to try the Sephora Solid Brush Cleaner since last year when, in the midst of looking for a dupe for the beautyblender blendercleanser and found that a lot of people said that they liked this even better than the blendercleanser. Colour me intrigued! So, I finally picked this up during my Boxing Week Sephora Haul and I've really put it to the test, doing a full brush cleaning as well as using this daily to clean my beautyblender and other sponges, and I'm ready to tell you what I think!

Recently, I decided that I needed a spot cleanser for my brushes since I didn't have one on hand. Since I'm a bit lazy when it comes to giving my brushes a deep cleaning, I feel like it's important to have a spot cleanser at my vanity so that I can give my brushes a quick clean and not have to worry about all my brushes being dirty all the time. I'd read some really great reviews on the Sephora website about this product and decided that it was definitely worth a try - especially since I could, at the very least, review it here since it can be hard to find solid reviews of this type of product.

So without further adieu, keep reading for my thoughts on this product!
