MAKEUP COLLECTION & DECLUTTER: Cream Blush

by - July 19, 2016

So. Let's talk Cream Blush. Of all the types of face products I have in my collection, this is probably the smallest collection because I just don't reach for cream blush all that often. That being said, I think there are some great cream blush options and for people with dry to very dry skin cream blush can be a bit of a skin savior because it doesn't make your skin look dry and parched. In the winter... that's me! I definitely had some cream blushes in my collection that needed to go though, so it was definitely time for a clean out!

Keep reading to take a look!

Colourpop Blush in Birthday Suit (Review)
Even though this is kind of a hybrid, I'm sticking it in the cream blush collection because... why not, right? Anyway, I LOVE this blush shade and how it looks on the skin, but I don't reach for it all that often because the only way I can really apply it to my liking is with my fingers and quite often I don't want to do that. That said, still gorgeous and it was a no brainer to keep.

essence Mountain Calling Cream To Powder Blush in Let's Climb Mount Beauty
This is a GREAT winter blush because it gives me that just in from the cold flush that I really like and has a good bit of hydration for my dry skin without having too much slip to it. I really do love so many essence blushes, can you tell?

Makeup Revolution The One Fluid Blusher in Pink Sea (Review)
I really wanted this as soon as I saw it - because it clearly reminded me of the Daniel Sandler blush that I'd been dying to try and this was a little more easily available. This was really the only shade that I felt would work on my skin and it's just really soft and pretty and light, so I tend to reach for this in the winter when my skin is really pale.

Stila Convertible Color in Peony
Admittedly, I've had this a long time and I don't really use it anymore... and I should probably throw it out, but I went through a period when I was a bit obsessed with it and I just couldn't bring myself to declutter it. That said, I'll probably keep this around until I get a new one and then toss it, probably won't use it again just because it's old.

Flower Beauty Creme Blush in Peach Blossom
This was definitely a disappointment. I was hoping for a really fresh peachy flush with this blush, but it's so light that it really doesn't show up at all on the skin. Really the only reason it's not being decluttered is because I literally just picked it up last month. It'll be on its way out soon.

LAQA & CO Cheeky Lip in Cray Cray
I thought I was going to hate this when I saw that I was going to be getting it in a Birchbox, but it's actually a really great summer shade for the cheeks. I don't actually like coral lips on me, so I definitely only use this for cheeks. This is for days when you really want a vibrant look that's still wearable. So pretty!

NUDESTIX Lip & Cheek Pencil in Whisper
I have two of these, I admit, and I love this shade so much for both lips and cheeks that I keep one for each. On the cheeks, this is a really soft, fresh nude pink that adds just the most beautiful hint of flush. I don't know if this would show up on deeper skin tones, but I love it on my pale winter skin.

Bbia Downy Cheek Cream Blush in Downy Pink
This just didn't work for me - and I tried. First, the shade was really light, as shades of Korean blushes really can be, and the formula was just too dewy for me. It never set on the skin and I just felt like this slid around my face and then disappeared. Not my favorite.

Vasanti Cream Blush in Pinnacle
Honestly, I'm not really sure why I never warmed up to this, but I just never found myself reaching for it and I felt like it deserved a better home. This is actually a really nice formula and a really nice shade, just never really jumped out at me.

essence Dark Romance Velvet Mousse Blush
I go a little crazy for essence trend editions, especially the blushes, so I snapped this up and then literally never used it after the first time. I don't think it gives the most even finish and the texture just felt a little gross on my cheeks. Not my favorite type of formula.

RIMMEL Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Pop Of Pink
This is another one that I just didn't really like the texture of. I picked this up soon after they were released, which was a long time ago now, in the midst of lots of social media attention, but it just never really worked for me so it's time to get rid of it. This is a toss, because it's so old that I don't want to pass it along.

Keeping 7, getting rid of 4... Not bad, right? Although technically I'm probably going to be keeping 6 and getting rid of 5... so I basically cut my collection in half! Can you see me sitting here congratulating myself? I'm doing it!

Thanks for reading!
