Being a Canadian beauty lover, one of the most frustrating things is when there are drugstore products that are widely available and loved in the States but as yet unavailable in Canada. I know my fellow Canadians know the pain on this. One product that I've had grabbyhands for since its release is the Hard Candy Coconut Water Cooling Primer Stick. I've heard great things about it from some influencers that I really trust and it really seemed like this was a product I was going to love. Of course, as soon as I saw it on the shelf at my local Walmart I had to pick it up and try it out. I mean, right?

If I were to name the top drugstore makeup trends for spring 2015, it would probably be a tie for the top spot between liquid lipsticks and contour products. I swear, they're blowing up and every brand seems to be releasing their own version. Because I'm vaguely obsessed with drugstore lip products, I've been grabbing them like crazy whenever I see them. This is why, of course, I couldn't resist picking up the Hard Candy Velvet Matte Mousse Lip Color in Cherry Blossom as soon as I saw it at Walmart. And by as soon as I saw it, I mean that I saw the box full of the new Hard Candy products waiting to be unpacked and I rummaged through it like a fiend. Is that bad? Anyway, I've been trying this out and I'm definitely ready to let you know what I think of it.

At this time of year, it seems like everywhere you look in the online beauty space, there's amazing and beautiful gift sets. Of course, a lot of those gift sets are of the high end variety and, as beautiful as they are, it's hard to justify the purchase of all of the ones that we all want. Along with all of the high end goodies, there are actually a lot of great drug store holiday sets that just aren't easily attainable for us Canadian girls. It was with that in mind that I decided to do a little looking around and see what we do have. During a trip to Walmart earlier this week, I noticed that they really had some adorable sets from Hard Candy out on the shelves, so I decided to do a little bit of research and I found that there are a TON of kits out there from Hard Candy this year and I decided to share them.

(These are the Canadian sets at the Canadian prices, but I believe that they're pretty much the same in both price and packages at US Walmarts as well.)

I have a thing for nutty scented bath & body products, I must admit. Sometimes in the summer I'll meander over to fresher or more tropical scents that suit the mood of the season, but for most of the year I love rich, warm, nutty scents in my body care. My obsession with all things almond scented is really no secret on this blog, is it? Anyway, when I was wandering through Walmart recently, I saw that they were now carrying c. Booth products and couldn't resist picking up a couple to try. In the US, I know this line is available at Ulta and perhaps some other places, but I've never seen it in Canada. The first product I'm going to review here is the Honey Almond Nourishing Bath & Body Wash, because... Ahem, almond? No regrets.

I love makeup brushes. I feel like I've only really come to appreciate different types of brushes in the last couple of years... and of course that means that my brush collection has pretty much exploded to epic proportions and I do actually use most of them fairly regularly. Because of this brush obsession of mine, I'm always on the lookout for affordable brushes. Inevitably at Christmastime, you will see inexpensive brush sets in stores, but the quality tends not to be so on point. Recently, when I popped into Walmart to see about picking up a few more Flower Beauty items to try out, I noticed that there were new brushes on the shelves there from this company called Still Spa Essentials and that they're incredibly affordable. Obviously, I had to pick up this set and try it out, right? I had to!

Okay, so, I admit it... I've been stalking my local Walmart weekly in hopes of getting my hands on a couple of the new Hard Candy things to try out. Particularly, I'm interested in the new brow products, because lately I've been on a one woman mission to dominate my brows for an affordable price. (It's getting to the point where I'm just about willing to forget the affordable price and go mad with Anastasia Beverly Hills power... but we'll see. I've still got a little bit of Brow Wiz left.) Last night I popped in and was, once again, disappointed by the lack of Hard Candy brow products, but then I caught sight of a new cardboard endcap display that made me blink a few times. Flower Beauty. At Walmart in Canada. Say it ain't so! It wasn't a full display, there were only 4 different items in a series of shades up for grabs, but it's a start and it gives me hope that soon we'll have a full display to choose from and try out.

I've actually only ever tried one product from Flower beauty and it was a pretty big fail. A while back, during a trip to the States, I was on a bit of a hunt for a perfect matte nude lipstick so I picked up a Flower one. It looked like concealer and applied on the lips like really cheap, dry concealer. It wasn't good. I threw it out ages ago. But still, I've heard some good things about some good things and I'm always willing to try something new, so I picked up 3 of the 4 items to give a once over.
