Very much like the Coffee & Donuts themed mani I posted earlier this week, I knew when I picked up the Manitude x Sip It Stamping Plate that I was going to be doing some version of this mani this fall. There's just something about the warm coziness of a nice cup of tea during the fall months, but also I felt like this was a great opportunity to create a really beautiful, saturated color story to bring together the tea theme - perfect for fall!

So the thing is... I know that spiderwebs are getting a LOT of play over the course of this month, but I really just can't seem to help myself. Not only so I just love them in general, but I also find them really versatile as far as creating different Halloween design. For today's mani, I kept it really simple and straightforward but also... real creepy and Halloween-y, if you ask me. Anyway, let's just get to the nails, shall we?

As often happens when I'm putting together nail art - especially in a process of having to put together quite as much nail art as I tend to do during the spooky seasons - I went into this mani with a bit of a plan but ultimately ended up changing things as I was in process. I tend to do this style of mani whenever I'm really trying to hit a theme - just look back through my Instagram feed - and I knew I was going to pull it out this Halloween, but it definitely didn't turn out how I initially thought, but in the best way.

It's that time of year again! Every year at this time, I do pretty much the same thing. I hammer through a Harry Potter movie marathon - a soul comfort that is needed a little bit more intensely this year for me than years past - and I do some HP themed nail art. This year, I picked up the Maniology M152 Wizards Welcome Stamping Plate specifically for this occasion and I put it to use within hours of it arriving in the mail for this surprisingly easy Hogwarts House Crest Skittle. I only just finished Goblet Of Fire on my marathon, so there may be more Harry Potter themed nails to come!

There's something about summer and fruit themed nail art, I think. I've wanted to use the kiwi image from the Whats Up Nails B008 Summer Seeds Stamping Plate for ages now, but I hadn't gotten around to it and I wanted to use just the perfect green to get the look I wanted. I own a lot of green polishes, I really do absolutely love them, but I wanted to find just the right green to use for this mani and I recently found a beautiful, unique green in the drugstore that paired beautifully with a flakie topper to create the base for this mani.

Have I spent months wanting to do bee nails and waiting for the right time? Yes. Yes, I have. This is one of those designs that I've been holding onto in the back of my mind, waiting for summer to get hot enough for the bees. (My brain works in a very, very specific way and I've learned to just accept it.) Anyway, it finally felt like it was time, so I dug around in my collection for a yellow nail polish that felt right and went to town with some favorite products in my collection and I'm kind of in love with the finished product.

If you're a lover of drugstore beauty, the begging of a new year is a super exciting time as brands start pushing out new releases and there are always some surprises. This year one of those exciting surprises for me was the REVLON Ultra HD Snap! nail polish line. When I saw the cardboard display at my local Shoppers Drug Mart, I couldn't resist snapping up a few of the more exciting shades and trying them out.

It's been a while since I've done a foundation review here on the blog, so it's definitely time to remedy that. Foundation is such a subjective thing, really, and with so many options at the drugstore I know that I personally heavily rely on the content of reviews to inform what I really want to try. I've also been finding that this season change (along with some seriously high stress levels) has been really effecting my skin and some of the foundations that I had been loving just aren't getting it done anymore. For the past couple of months I've been trying out the Revlon Photoready Candid Foundation & Concealer* and I'm super excited to share my thoughts on them with you guys!

I feel like the drugstore has been going really hard recently with full coverage foundations. Admittedly, I haven't tried all that many of them because full coverage can tend to scare me and for a while now I've been going for more natural looking foundations. That being said, I recently had the opportunity to try out the Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Matte Foundation* and I've been using it for the past couple of weeks to really figure out how I feel about it and I'm glad I did because I had to play a little bit to figure out how this works best - at least on my skin.

I suspect that it could just be because it's so current, but I feel like this spring has been one of the most exciting for me in recent memory when it comes to new releases in the drugstore. I've been testing out new products from most of the major drugstore brands recently - look for more releases to come - but today I wanted to talk to you guys about a few products that I've been trying out from Revlon recently. Revlon is actually a brand that had fallen a little bit off my radar in recent years, but I feel like they're making a little bit of a resurge - have you guys seen the new, chic displays in stores?

Anyway, keep reading for more on these new Revlon releases!

Recently, during a peruse of the drugstore, I decided that I wanted to start a new series here on the blog. I feel like there are so many new products being released so constantly that sometimes we forget about the products that we used to love, so I wanted to do a bit of a revisit of products that used to be favorites of mine that I haven't used in a while. The first on the list, and really the inspiration for this post, was the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation. I remembered really loving this foundation, but it had been years since I'd had it in my collection and I'd also heard that it had been reformulated, so I picked up a new bottle and I've been revisiting it.

Hey guys! For my first review of 2018, I wanted to go with a collection of drugstore nail polishes that I admittedly didn't have the highest hopes for. I have to admit, I'm generally someone who's more likely to pick up polishes that I can get in a store than I am to order indie polishes online. Of course, indie polishes have consistently been bringing really gorgeous, unique formulations and finishes and it's hard to find things in the drugstore that measure up. One thing that I've been pleased to notice lately have been an influx of easily available holographic polishes, so I was super curious to try out out the holos from the Revlon Holochrome Collection and see how they stacked up.

I'm gonna go ahead and apologize in advance for not being able to capture the full spectrum of the holo in the swatch photos - it's a lighting issue and I'm working on it, I promise.

It seems like 2014, for me, has been the year of the purple lipstick. Actually, I kind of feel like it's been the year of lipstick for me, if only because in the past I've been pretty narrow in the colour choices for my lip products and this year has just exploded with different, more vibrant choices. In fact, I think that when the end of the year comes and I'm narrowing down my 2014 favorites, I might have to do it by colour category because there CANNOT only be one. So let's look at another lipstick that I never would have touched before 2014.

Another Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick? Yes, my friends, another one. I've actually been saving this review for fall, because I feel like this is one of those absolutely perfect shades for cooler weather. In fact, I think it might even get better the colder the weather gets. So. Let's look closer, shall we?

So, for ages now I've been hearing about the absolutely amazeballs formula of the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks. Like. Everywhere. A while back, I picked up a nude matte shade that people seem to go crazy for, which is apparently a MAC dupe, and it gave me concealer mouth so I never touched it again. I also picked up a shade from their newest additions to the permanent line and was less than impressed, so I was starting to wonder if I just didn't get it. A couple of weeks ago, Shoppers had these babies on crazy sale ($3.99 each) so I decided to be proactive and pick up specific shades that I'd heard a lot about. This baby right here is one of those shades.

So what do I think? Keep reading...

When the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms were first released, this was the shade that I was absolutely salivating over. And, truth being told, judging by the fact that this is sold out everywhere I go about 80% of the time, I think this is probably the shade that everyone was salivating over. And who could blame them? The thing about this shade is that it doesn't necessarily feel like drugstore. Drugstore makeup tends to be safer, more wearable, and take far less risks than a lot of the higher end brands, so I have to cheer on Revlon for including this really ballsy shade. The people like it!

Let's take a closer look!

I swear, these months are passing so quickly that I'm having trouble keeping up... And I'm also having trouble thinking of new favorites now that summer has arrived and I've fallen into a bit of a standard routine of old favorites. I did, however, manage to scrape up a few things that I've been completely obsessed with, so without further adieu...

At some point I'm going to have to stop being surprised, but every time I switch purses I always find myself shocked at the sheer number of lip products that inevitably end up just living in the bottom of my purse. This morning all I had time to do was wash my face and throw on a little moisturizer before running out the door, so I was rooting around looking for something to liven up my lips and I decided to share a rundown of what's in my purse right now - from new things that I'm trying to the everyday staples that migrate from bag to bag no matter what.

The sad thing, I have to admit, is that this is actually a lot less lip products than I normally have in my bag.

Also, I'm sure it's glaringly obvious that I don't have any other makeup in my bag. The reason for this is that I actually keep an old Ipsy bag of my staples in my desk at work so that I'm not constantly lugging around eyes and face the way that I lug around lips. Well, that and the fact that I have a travel bag full of cosmetics that comes with me in my gym bag when I spend nights at my boyfriend's place. That's actually probably the real reason and maybe eventually we'll delve into the treasures that are in that bag.

For now, though, let's stay on track, shall we?

Without further adieu...

So... For all intents and purposes, I'm a bit of an (epic) Goo Hoarder and I rarely actually finish things. Recently I've decided that I needed to stop doing that, because things go bad and that's just a waste all around. Hence why I decided to do empties posts... If I never finish anything, I won't be able to make this.

So I give you... Empties. Ooh! Ahh!
