I have to admit, the state of 2020 has meant that even though I've still been getting up and going to work this entire time, I've more often than not been skipping makeup in a way that I haven't in years.  Because of that, getting out this review has taken a little bit longer than I intended. That said, when I've been reaching for foundation and concealer recently (admittedly, the latter more than the former) the Avon Cashmere Complexion Foundation & Concealer* have been the ones I've been using, so I've definitely given a solid test.

For the past few years, I've really found that during the summer I gravitate towards sheer, easy to wear lip colours and leave the bold ones in the drawer, but this summer has really been driving that home. Though they aren't something that has been in my collection in recent years, I have a really, really special place in my heart from fragrances from Fruits & Passion. Weirdly enough it's because 20 years ago now (how am I this old??) my first love wore an aftershave from F&P and I fell so completely in love with the scent of it that I've always held onto that affection for their scents. So, of course, I was really excited to open a box from Avon and find Fruits & Passion Kate Eau De Toilette* and I couldn't wait to get it on my skin and in my nose holes. 

Honestly, I like to think that I'm beyond getting excited about packaging and branding and design the way that I used to, but as soon as I had the VDL Expert Color Lip Cube Marble Glow* in my hand, I was smitten. Available from Avon as a part of their partnership with the brands under THEFACESHOP umbrella, this lip balm absolutely wins the award for the prettiest looking lip balm I've ever tried by a mile and I've been testing the formula for a while to see if it lives up to what I had hoped.

The most exciting thing for me about Avon teaming up with THEFACESHOP to bring their customers KBeauty products is definitely the skin care aspect of it and I was super excited when I got the chance to try out the Mango Seed Moisturizing Butter* and the Mango Seed Radiant Moisturizing Oil*. I've had incredibly good luck with THEFACESHOP skin care in the past and winter was the absolute perfect time to put these two moisturizers to the test on skin that really needed that boost of moisture and protection.

I feel like a few years ago I was greedy to get my hands on every formula, but lately I've really been trying to reign myself in. However, I recently tried out a few of the Avon Matteitute Liquid Lipsticks* and it's sort of reminded me exactly why I loved matte liquid lipsticks so much.

Hey guys! I'm a huge fan of a blush palette and I suspect I always will be. Though I wouldn't say I'm a huge traveler by any means, a blush palette is basically a must for travel for me, but I actually really prefer reaching for a palette when I'm at home as well. Having multiple options in my hand makes choosing a blush shade to go with my eyes and lips for that day a lot easier and I can really see the differences in tone when I have side by side comparisons. I feel like 2019 is definitely going to be the year that lip gloss comes back in full force. After several years of the mattest matte lips we could all find, I think everyone is starting to find themselves ready for a little bit of shine. I also think we're going to see some really interesting new formulas, from the very richly pigmented to the ones that have really interesting shades and undertones. I know scents are subjective, but for my personal taste there is no better season for smells than fall. Sure, sometimes they go a little too far with the caramel sweetness, but I don't care because so often they're paired with something a little spicy or nutty or just... rich. I can get down with floral scents in the spring and fresher scents in the summer, but I'm always excited to get to when smells smell the best, and for me that's definitely fall. Sometimes I get really, really excited about a new skin care launch and I just can't wait to share it with you guys - and this is definitely one of those times. Recently, Avon released their Anew Hydra Fusion line and I was incredibly excited to try it out, particularly with colder weather already starting to roll in here on the prairies. This summer has been a little bit chaotic, but I've been finding that as the nights get a little bit cooler and I start reaching for shirts with sleeves more often I'm also taking a little bit more time to indulge in self care. Even though my skin is definitely more problematic in the winter, summer body care definitely gets a lot more attention from me since... you know, my skin is all out there in the hot weather. When it comes to contouring and highlighting, I'm not entirely sure that what I like is what everybody else likes. I'm good with that, actually. If I'm going to contour, I want it to be subtle and just give dimension to my face with a lightweight texture that doesn't really look like I've added more makeup to my face. Otherwise, I'm admittedly just not going to contour. And when it comes to highlight, I'm more of a lit from within glow kind of girl on most days with occasional days when I want a little bit more intensity, but never, ever a metallic stripe on my cheeks. I have to admit that I'm a person who, when I don't like things, tends to dig her heels in and just not have them. Once upon a time, one of the things that I didn't like was lavender. It just wasn't my thing at all. I keep most of my skin care at my vanity to protect delicate actives from heat and steam, but I do keep my cleansers in the bathroom and I have A LOT of them. I would even hazard to say that I'm becoming a bit of a cleansing junkie and I tend to choose my cleansers based on how my skin is behaving and what I feel like it really needs.
